Seriously, stop with the constant deluge of pointless threads bashing Obama.

It'd be one thing if you had a legitimate, informed gripe about the administration's policies...but nobody gives a flying fuck about what this or that poll says on any given day. He won. He's the president. Shut the fuck up and try being part of the solution for once.

He is president, yes. For four or maybe even eight years. But he is not King. He is not Dictator, and he is not God. His healthcare law is going to be a PERMANENT fundamental change to America against what the founders intended. And he is trying to accomplish this using questionable methods with a law that most believe is unconstitutional, and for reasons that most think are wrong.

There are probably a dozen new threads a month in the Politics forum that are worth reading. The rest are just partisan noise, presumably posted in the not entirely unrealistic belief that if you repeat the same lies often enough, people will believe them.

The longer the man stays in office, the more bitter the opposition becomes. The paranoidal rants get louder, more frequent and more outlandish. As for health care, the changes the law makes to our status quo are minimal at best. But leave it to the rabid right to make it sound as if he's enforcing martial law and doing something so epically wrong that it makes them want to shoot someone.

Not even the liberal rhetoric against Bush was this volatile or angry.

His healthcare law
Explain how it's "his" law.

stratedude said:

Explain how any provisions of the law are exempted from constitutional methods of modification.

stratedude said:
fundamental change to America against what the founders intended.
Explain which of the founders' intents you believe this law will change, then explain what qualifies such change as fundamental.

And he is
If by "he," you mean the president, please explain exactly what action of his you're referring to.

stratedude said:
trying to accomplish this using questionable methods
Explain what "this" you believe anyone is trying to accomplish, what questionable methodologies are being employed, who determined them to be questionable, and what the un-questionable alternative means should be.

stratedude said:

Explain which law you're referring to and specifically how it violates the US Constitution. Also, please cite your statistical study from which you base the claim of such view being held by "most" people.

Explain which reasons you're referring to and why they are "wrong," then elucidate for us the reasons that would be "correct." Again, please cite your statistical study from which you base the claim of such view being held by "most" people.

Um... lol?

As soon as the right starts protesting like this, the liberal rhetoric (and their actions) will always be worse.

The way I look at it is this:

We Tried the republican way for 8 years. It didn't work. We went further and further in debt. Almost a Decade worth of unchecked spending, run-away banking industry, and a buddy system that was corrupt to the core.

Here we are...at the end of that period, in a serious state of affairs..
You get a man that wants to do better - and HAS in most sense of the word, and they condemn him.
Pathetic.

National Health Care has been on the table for YEARS. It's been shoved aside for a very long time.
Good for them for trying to make a step in a positive direction.
Will it work? Who Knows.. Probably.

But we wont know unless we TRY.

When people on the left threaten gun violence against legislators for merely passing a bill in droves, and audience members at their rallies are calling officials a variety of character degrading racial slurs and spitting on them, then we can talk.

"Good Lord, Martha! They've gone and put a BLACK man in the White House! The WHITE house! Why'd they think we called it that in the first place?? I swear, whole country's gone to glory-hell in a handbasket!"

All those things are bad, even if there really is no proof of the racial slurs at rallies. But still, all of that pales in comparison to signs calling for outright murder. Plus when you throw in all the arrests, property damage, and felonies committed during protests by the left, it really just isn't even close. Once the right stoops that low, then we can call it even.

Lol, call it even? What the fuck are you smoking, son? I thought the Wrong trying to impeach Clinton for gettin his dick sucked in the oval office was pretty low, a complete waste of time and money. Country seemed to be in pretty good shape under Clinton's watch...And I think the left took the high road with Bush the Conqueror when he wasted a considerable amount of time and money (oh AND LIVES) invading Iraq for "weapons of mass destruction" (LOL). Really, if any President in our history should have been impeached it was your war hero GW. What a disgrace he must be to all of you. I would be ashamed and lash out too :)))

So anyone on the right should really count their blessings and shut the fuck up. Funny, the country is running a little better under Obama's "REIGN OF POWER" (even if it "only" is because of how bad it was before him  ), does anyone notice a pattern forming?

THIS IS WHAT CHANGE LOOKS LIKE MOTHERFUCKERS SUCK A DICK!!!!!

You're joking, right? No?? You're serious???!! What kind of right wing delusional fantasy world are you living in anyway? Do you have magic Repuleprechauns there that do battle against all the evil leftist elves and fairies? :slaphappy:

HEY STRATEDUDE! (Just borrowing your typeface for a sec.)
Are you gonna respond to HazelGod? Or are you just gonna move on to the next thread, like you always do when anyone challenges your usual string of baseless, unsubstantiated, hyperbolic, apoplectic statements?

Isn't that a Sean Hannity catch phrase, "there's no proof"?

Logic tells you just because there isn't audio/visual recordings of something doesn't mean it didn't happen. Such as a few years ago during a golf tournament there were 3 or 4 holes-in-one but there wasn't a tv camera that caught one on tape.

There is proof, on video, that at least one congressman was spit on, walking at the capitol steps. It's well known that Barney Frank is gay, so for someone to call him a "faggot" wouldn't be any stretch of thinking. One of the other congressmen is black it wouldn't be too hard to think of someone calling him a "nigger" because they disagreed with him.

The bottom line is the fact that he is black, most people should have expected this reaction to the election, I know I did. He is doing the best he can under the circumstances, things were messed up pretty bad when he took office.

For all y'all denying racial epithets at the Teabag rallies, I dunno, I find this a lil bit racist.

www.dailykos.com/story/2010/1/4/821807/-OMFG! (scroll down for pics)

The photo was taken at the Feb. 27, 2009 Tea Party in Houston. The guy holding the sign is Dale Robertson, the self-described "President and Founder of the Tea Party" who owns and operates TeaParty.org. His sign reads, in full: "Congress = Slaveowner / Taxpayer = Niggar."

You can plainly see in the photo where he taped a sheet of paper with the word "niggar" on the bottom of the sign. Before anybody calls foul, I have seen where he originally had written "nigar". Apparently, he figured out it was misspelled, so he corrected it - and it's still misspelled. Talk about one pic being worth 10,000 words. This speaks volumes!

There's more than you'd ever want on the Teabaggers here: www.liveleak.com/view?i=a2f_1269133063&c=1
Video from protests all over the country. Also included are some details from the protests at the Capitol during the healthcare debate with the usual racist and anti-gay slurs and spitting.

Every person who has ever held a political office has been on the receiving end of criticisms valid and baseless alike. What in the name of whatever deity you worship would make anyone think Obama would be any different?! He is not above reproach. You can not please everyone. Someone will always have something to say about a decision he has made or something he has proposed. The beauty of it is you can't silence the ridiculous ranting of a person just making shit up anymore than they can silence support they feel is unwarranted.
And I do have a question. Mostly because we have forgotten. Wasn't Bush's approval rating was quite high at the start of the Iraq war? Wasn't it higher then than Obama's is now? And lastly no I am not a Bush supporter. I think he was a dumbass. But stupid is as stupid elects.
