Bill said, "Well even Jesse Jackson won in South Carolina," when asked to comment on what it means for Obama to win there. The Clintons keep pressing forward on making this about race and gender.

Goes to show that they'll do anything to win ... but not necessarily that they're racists. And I think their antiracism credentials are pretty solid. (Their moral credentials aren't, though, and have never been. The end justifies the means in the Clintons' parallel universe. But that's made them winners.)

And who keeps "leaking" the story about Obama being allegedly brought up in a radical Islamic school? Who is repeating that dirty lie?

I don't know and you haven't told us, simcha.

There's that whole thing about, "Well a black man can't possibly win the presidency, so we need to field a white person (even if she's a woman)." The Clinton's don't seem to be shy of insinuating that either.

And it makes a certain sense, particularly if the woman is apt to advance the interests of African-Americans.

Bill was raised in the South. Hillary was raised in the racist white suburb of Niles, Illinois. It's in their blood.

Made Bill the first black president.
I really don't think he's racist ... and I think the testimony of a lot of black people over many years will support that.
About Hillary ... well, I simply doubt that she's a racist, but I have no idea.

I tell you, simcha ... if I am being naive here, it won't be the first time.
And I'm less plugged into American politics now than I have ever been.
I respect your posts ... and perhaps I need to start paying some close attention to what the Clintons are doing.
That said, I'm still dubious.

Actually, I did, too.
I mean, people were really pissed at Bill towards the end of his second term. He had low ratings ... though not as low as Dubya's.
But maybe Skull was talking about the larger picture. Clinton started out quite popular, and after a dip, again enjoys a high level of regard.

From your lips to God's ears!

I just can't stand the idea that we might have more than 20 years with people ONLY named Clinton or Bush in the White House. If Chelsea is next I'm gonna jump off a bridge.
I hope it's a high one, you really don't want to survive a fall like that. :lmao:

as ye sew, so shall ye reap
AMEN!

the sad thing is yes, the country is in dire need of a change of direction ... sadly, neither tweedle-dee nor tweedle-dum is pointing in the right direction
:rolleyes:Who exactly are you calling Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum? What makes you think any of the Republicans are pointing in the 'right' direction? After all they never have before, why would they start now?

here's hoping for a Republican presidency (although I fear that won't happen)
Are you insane or just stupid?!?!? Either you are an integral part of the Bush/Cheyney/Rove* machine or you must work for Halliburton! :biggrin1:

* I realize Rove stepped down but make no mistake he is still pulling strings for that drunken cheerleader, morons like you elected twice! :headache:

Oh, fuck yeah.
But jeez ... I think even Romney would be better.
No ROMNEY is NOT better......I Live in Massachusetts and by the end of his term, Mr Romney was hated, yes hated, by the citizens of Massachusets.......His Lieutenant Governor ran for office and was trounced by like 75% to 25 %........I'll openly admit I'm for Obama, even donated to his campaign........he's the FIRST politician in MY lifetime who actually makes me believe we can get past all the bullshit and be a country again......

I agree with SIMCHA, the Clintons are in my opinion. the ultimate in white trash, and that is being offensive to white trash. They are just vile people. I really hope the country and voters wake up and decide they don't want this scrap in the White House.

(1) I was referring to the Democrats and to the Republicans;

(2) Although I was a member of the Republican Central Committee, no I did not vote for Bush; and,

(3) Stupid is, as stupid does ... I would guess the same for insanity

Given what the country is going through now, and the difficult decisions that will have to be made, those two leaders of the Democratic pack frighten me more, than say, McCain, Kucinich, or even some Democrats like Edwards ...

Mea culpa, Indie.
You realize I was choosing Romney as someone I have no respect for, to emphasize how easily Bush's performance as pres could be bettered?
But if you say Bush is better, I won't argue.
I could be quite happy with Obama or with Clinton.

I'm just worried obama might be a pussy. Hillary is one cold bitch and that is what you need to be to pull the trigger when it needs to be pulled. Plus Bill will be back.

Well, yes, his approval rating, if you look only at one figure, was surprisingly good ... and was at its highest just after the impeachment.

But only 45 percent said they would miss him, and his fellow Democrats (correct me if I'm wrong) considered him damaged goods for a couple years or so in their own campaigning ... a sad decline that Clinton spent the next few years working hard to reverse. (And he succeeded.)

Just after he left office, two out of three Americans said he would be more remembered for personal scandals than his political achievments, and well over half said they didn't think he was honest.

And yet you're right: A surprising number of people really liked Clinton.

When he went to Gaza in 1998, the Palestinians were bursting with love for him; I don't think there's any other American political figure who could excite that reaction now.

The guy's loaded with charisma.

Bush's approval rating is around 30 percent now.

Finally, like you, I'm not sure Obama has the toughness to be president. Which is fine if he only has to tiptoe through the tulips, but it's a big world with lots of surprises.

Of course, maybe he is tough. The problem is, we just don't know at this point.

Like voting to send troops to Iraq?

Plus Bill will be back.

To bomb aspirin factories.

So much for for the independent woman idea. Does Hillary even care that Bill already seems to be overshadowing her?

P.S. I'm not really arguing with skull . . . just bored

choosing the lesser of all evils.

everyone has an opinion, just like everyone has an asshole. and you know whats in common with both of them shit.

so until you lose your opinion and are able to look at life unbiasedly we should just shut up. I want obama to win I pray to god hope the establishment doesn't take over again.
