Hasn't this crappy Petro-War been going on for almost a century? What will it take to make it finally end?
I often wonder if it would have been better to have not discovered petro.
I agree, basically, with tripod about the President, but the system is far more powerful than an individual.
Check out Pres. D. D. Eisenhower's Farewell Address of 1/17/61. He was military and knew war was hell. He sounds more to the left than today's Democrats.
Look, I know self-defence is absolutely necessary, but I never understood the Afghanistan exercise, except in terms of oil pipeline protection, not to mention Iraq. Pres. Obama has no choice but to continue and hopefully finish this engagement.

You know, Eisenhower wanted to have "military industrial congressional complex" in his farewell address, but his administration wouldn't let him do it. Too bad, the man had vision.

And please, let's blame the civilian deaths for a war started and then abandoned by the Bush administration on the guy who's trying to stabilize the Afghanistan and get our troops home.
