If what she said was just a slip of the tongue, not well thought out, and possibly not quite what she meant, then fine and well ...

But, it does make one pause and wonder

But, even more disturbing might be the possibility that this might be what she actually meant ... this raises the issue of perspective ... this would be the perspective of someone who is most intimately involved of one who seeks to control the fate, destiny, and well-being of the nation?

It is one thing for the average citizen, for example the posters of this thread to express little regard for the nation,

but, the wife of one who would be President?

Given that they are husband and wife, how little regard for the nation on Obama's part does this reflect?

I think her quote is being taken out of context. And she's better than me, I'm still not particularly proud of this country, we're, AT BEST, a work in progress. Better than others? Sure, maybe, but an alcoholic is better than a rapist but where does that leave u?? Think about it.

no indication she made a mistake in expressing how she actually feels

O well. I'd rather a strong woman who speaks her mind instead of a puppet (Cindy McCain) who says whatever is written down for her.

...And arrive and what vexes me. Why all this scrutiny of every little thing Obama and his wife do. But no talk of McCain and his faults.

And I'm still waiting to be enlightened as to how he is an elitist.
