    WhooEEEEE!

I'm now off my crutches after NINE weeks. My sprained ankle is mostly healed, but the foot bone they were worried about being fractured shows only a serious bruise on the MRI.

My third specialist says I can now WALK without crutches, DRIVE (my own stickshift car!) without my removable cast, and SWIM for exercise. WHOOEEE!

NCbear (who's so damned happy he doesn't even have the words to express his emotions) :biggrin1:

that is great news, I am happy for you, nothing worse than not being able to drive your own vehicle, especially one with a stick, unfortunately, both of my trucks have automatics. but at least you can now drive your own vehicle and clutch to your hearts content now, walk around now, reading your message was a great way to start my Saturday morning. congrats.

Nine weeks? - that must have been a bitch... Congrats - have a good scratch!

Sorry - I don't recall the cause of your cast , but nine weeks for a sprained ankle and a possible fracture? There musta have been something else, surely...

Wow! I can't say you've had a run of good luck, or you wouldn't have needed the crutches in the first place, but the last week has treated you well! Good for you!

Just remember that just because the cast is off, it doesn't mean that you have mended entirely...though if you do need some help, I have a needle and cotton on hand.)

I am very happy for you (you must have gone out of your mind) and wish you a full recovery!

Went to Boone yesterday to go take pics of a waterfall. Whee! Could walk around. My God.

Going to swim now at the Y.

Walking, swimming, driving, shopping....all things we take for granted until we can't do one or all of them. Good luck with the recovery and the shopping trip...i'm sure everyone will wonder why you're smiling.
