good lord traveling through england and ireland, the BEER. just outstanding. it's like drinking mercurialbliss' butt. THAT friggen good.

though give us some cred for the recent phenom of micro and homebrewing, we've come a LONG friggen way with beer, there are some microbreweries through this hemisphere now that can kick your ass as well as a Boddington's or Fuller's any day

but damn. they do have beer.

english cuisine?

anyone?

There is a whole thread devoted to this somewhere.

All I will say is that the reputation lingers longer than the reality. The UK - like the US - absorbs a lot of influences - so we get a great variety of excellent international cuisine.

We have great food - just you won't get it in a standard hotel/pub/restaurant.

I had some great Chinese food in London once. Hooked up with some cute Chinese girl there too, shortly thereafter.

I liked the cafe in the crypt in Trafalgar Square, too. Decent food, and you got to eat on top of dead people. Beats Planet Hollywood.

but isn't that eating in a dead concept?
