    Love Nina Simone! I found out about her while looking up alto/contralto singers for karaoke. (Because that's my vocal range..) I've actually "discovered" several great singers that way!)

    I also really like Nat King Cole.

    Wondering how far back is considered "oldies but goodies" now - I'm sometimes seeing songs from the 1990s classified as "oldies" now! :eek: (gee thanks, make me feel REALLY old, why don'tya? :biggrin1:)

    So far I'll agree with "That's Life" I never tire of listening to it. This is also a longtime favorite. I could listen to Bessie Smith all day on a rainy afternoon.
