Here's the Republican Party's ideology, as summed up by someone who disagrees with it: "Life is a competition. Free markets decide who wins and loses. Only you can change your own circumstances, by working harder and making better decisions. Believe in God and do what He says in the Bible. Everything was better before the Sexual Revolution."[/QUOTE]

Right. What a friend you [all] have in Jesus. Peddle your hypocritical, self centered, mean spirited, narrow minded republican bullshit to someone who's buying it, bub.

Wait, you've come to the conclusion that I'm a Republican? How is that possible?
No, I've come to the conclusion that you've spend a lot of time (and wasted a lot of mine) talking up hypocritical, self centered, mean spirited, narrow minded republican bullshit while suggesting that Democrats have no particular ideology to speak of.

Look at the previous post. I didn't say you were a republican nor a conservative. I said you were here trying to NORMALIZE their narrow minded, bigoted b.s.

I pointed you in a direction where you can get your answers, IF you were seeking them (apparently you WEREN'T), and you blew it off as "no coherent ideology" because I provided you a reference.

In short, you're full of S-----------.

All Republican policies grow out of these core beliefs. Republican politicians who don't adhere to these beliefs and promote the corresponding policies quickly find themselves banished.\

What about their core beliefs of voter suppression, minority rule, homophobia, abortion, pre-emptive war, guns guns guns, misogyny, anti-science, intelligent design, mass incarceration and Islamaphobia? These are the "issues" they can't stop crafting bills to address.

Well, according to HIM, they believe in God and do what He tells them to do. LOL.

But really, Sargon, he doesn't want to hear what we have to say on the subject.

It's TROLLING 101, with a minor is shit stirring.

And I knew that was his intent from his initial post, when he, without any documented evidence, presented the GOP as a party with a set ideology and Democrats as a party with none other than "pleasing people." Nevertheless I gave him the benefit of the doubt in my reply.

From that he resorted to the tried and true troll tactic of putting forth a question for which he'd deem NO answer as acceptable. Anticipating where that was going, I provided him with as minimal a reply as necessary. He rejected it as an answer.

I next provided him a with a more comprehensive reference (ONE of many). He claimed the reference was proof that there wasn't an answer.

After which he, who CHOSE to speak of behalf of Republican ideology, offered up some juvenile SPIN which included, "Believe in God and do what He says in the Bible..." (really? give us a break)... which, HE would have us believe was MUCH better than my responses.

Yeah, RIGHT.

Then he coyly wonders how anyone could possibly think he was a Republican. Mission accomplished...

.Interesting you chose to respond in a demeaning, superior manner, ignoring the question.

.Someone here illegally is breaking the law. Someone stealing is breaking the law.

And you think *I'm* the one being demeaning and superior and ignoring the real question?

And while the nation is protesting against Trump’s latest Republican enabled hate crime, Resident Second Choice is off golfing—and, one again—wasting tax payer money for his protection, charging the country for housing the protection, and running his mouth in service of himself.

And that's a snapshot of who and what MANY of them on the right ARE. And this thread is PARTLY about recognizing it and calling it out what it is.

Truth be told however, I EXPECTED some degree of blow back from some left of center as WELL. Because this thread is ALSO about "bringing knives to a gunfight" about apologising for taking a hard stance against hate based malicious rhetoric and ideology, and about those left of center who play "devil's advocate" and who, via various rationales, tend to lend legitimacy and support to such ideology. For that reason, I personally believe such people to be just as dangerous as Trump's supporters and apologists.

And the responses I had from P.A. was a perfect example of this kind of thing. He presented the right as having a consistent ideology and the left as just wanting to please a particular set of people. I held that both parties have an ideology and both appeal to a particular group of people, and when asked, I presented key Democratic concepts and beliefs, and provided references which he rejected, while he himself offered some flowery, utopian version of the GOP's rather narrow minded self centered ideology.

He offered Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's statement as an example of an ideology: "No one should be too poor to live." How is that so different from "a liveable wage"? Who says ideology has to be expressed in complete statements, and cannot be expressed as a set of principles and core beliefs?

Had he cared to look he might have found that Wikipedia defined Democratic ideology in terms similar to my own. But he wasn't so much interested in that as he was in bolstering his false PREMISE.

In like fashion I had someone, who spends much of HIS time defending a country he DOESN'T live in, tell me (in another thread) to "relax and be cool" about what's happening in our OWN country. To which I have to wonder, WHEN is the right time to respond??

When is the right time to speak out about policy that separates families and child detention centers? After they've been housed, detained, lost for several months? A year?? When is the right time to speak out about the erosion of voting rights and voter disenfranchisement? When minority voters go to the polls on election day and discover they CAN'T?

Yes, there are desperate people in Yemen. But maybe we can't do much about them for now. Does that mean we should "relax and be cool" about the erosion of health coverage, support programs, family assistance, collective bargaining rights, and more HERE??

But then again this was one of several people who, months before the November '16 election, went on an anti Hillary tirade - buying into and promoting the false Hillary/Trump equivalency narrative, accusing the DNC of sabotaging Bernie's campaign, disseminating foreign based propaganda that "Hillary will start WWIII, and disparaging black voters who mostly backed Hillary (instead of treating it as a predictor of the enthusiasm he'd be in want of from that demographic come Election Day).

Like those now going BELLY up because of their reluctance to STEP up and call out Trump and Republicans for WHAT they are, and those given to normalizing Trump and his policy of malice, Hillary bashers that November served NO one's purpose other than Donald J. Trump.

Those who couldn't see the big picture, and who went out and pulled that lever for some third party candidate voted FOR Trump... and for a GOP controlled Congress, and for a conservative controlled Supreme Court that'll continue to undermine voting rights, gay rights, collective bargaining, environmental and consumer protections, that'll support and rubber stamp collusion and conspiracy, and a whole lot more.

And that's the plain unvarnished TRUTH of it.

Oh exactly Republican strategists adore third party candidates. It’s easy as pie divide and conquer. As the unrivaled Party of Hate there’s only one place go for hate and they have a monopoly on that throw in a dash of voter suppression and a dash of gerrymandering and you can win win win. Then once in office make life as miserable as possible for everyone but the rich because the poor stupid haters that elected them well all they know is 24/7 hate thanks to the 24/7 hate marathon over at Foxy News and Brietbert.

And while I can appreciate the vote against "the establishment democrat" we no longer have that luxury. Recognize it or not these are dire times for the country and we are teetering on tyranny and facism like never before. A US president is going around from country to country praising murderous dictators, longing for their power while bashing traditional allies all with overwhelming support from his party. Saint Reagan would not even recognize this "Rosemary's Baby" he spawned.

Let not thy heart be troubled.
They are blesséd that layeth hands upon the anointéd Trump whose glorious light shineth to all who surroundeth him. Thus he hath tweeteth. Biglieth.
Yea, verily, I say unto ye:

If they—the obsequious— graspeth the master,
They won't grabbeth at other things.
“Pussy is mine,” sayeth the Trump.
Yea, verily, master. thou owneth us.

Thus endeth the word of the Trump according to the Evangelical Gospel of the Trump.

I wouldn't encourage Democrats to make asses out of themselves... taking the low road is never going to end well.
Yeah, it seems like the best thing we can do for right now is to stay angry, use that anger to stay mobilized and engages, and convince our fellow liberals to register, confirm their registration several times so they don't get dropped in a Republican 'voter purge,' and get EVERYONE to turn out for the midterms. A third of the Senate is in play, and the ENTIRE House, so if we turn out with a serious Blue Wave, we will regain control of one, perhaps both halves of Congress, and then we can stop this rubber-stamping of Trump's racist, sexist agenda.
