    Researchers have demonstrated success using bacterial enzymes to extricate the DNA of HIV from infected human cell nuclei, essentially reversing the process of infection.

    It's a long road from achieving these results in the lab using cervical tissue to reversing the infection of a patient's entire immune system, but researchers are cautiously optimistic that they're chasing a workable approach to fighting the disease.
