Or maybe people were right in saying that your mind is craving for something different. As in people, places and things but some old fear that you have i.e. spiders is holding you back. If you were given a choice lately as a move in employment or residence that might explain a bit or some sort of emotional move that to you seems like a completely different world.

Or maybe its the other way around. Maybe since your fear of spiders has already been established as a rational and diagnosed fear. That it has become the symbol for stability in your life. That you are in a way comforted more by something you fear rather than the unexpected. Being that you've shied away from change because it was so foreign to you.

Maybe your homesick.
