I LOVE one-hit wonders! Often I will like them better than the songs by bands with lots of hits (although I like some of those too...)

My favorites of the list: #'s 4, 5, 7, 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 43, 46, and 50!

I always think of OMC's "How Bizarre" as a great summertime driving song (to listen to in the car on road trips.)

And I mentioned Cornershop's "Brimful of Asha" in another thread. I also like the songs of the woman who the song is about, Asha Bhosle.

Well now I know just how much I'm out of it. I recognized only about 20 of them, so for me, it was a list of one-hit-wonder-what-they-were's....:biggrin1:

Wow, the only one I HAVEN'T heard is #48! I guess we all know how I spend MY time! :biggrin1: Not real familiar with #49 either but I've heard of LA Guns so I'm sure I've heard the song.

Thanks for reminding me how old I am! LOL :biggrin1:

I was listening to Nena, Soft Cell and Frankie Goes to Hollywood when I was in college!

The oldest song on that list was Carl Douglas - Kung Fu Fighting. And yes, I remember it when it came out! I was elementary-school age at the time but I remember the song from when it was a hit.

I've always loved this one hit wonder that did'nt make the list...

"HOT CHILD IN THE CITY"

Artist: Nick Gilder

Danger in the shape of somethin' wild
Stranger dressed in black, she's a hungry child
No one knows who she is or what her name is
I don't know where she came from or what her game is

(Hot child in the city)
(Hot child in the city)
(Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty)
(Hot child in the city)

So young to be loose and on her own
Young boys, they all want to take her home
She goes downtown, the boys all stop and stare
When she goes downtown, she walks like she just don't care, care

(Hot child in the city)
(Hot child in the city)
(Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty)
Yeah
(Hot child in the city)

Come on down to my place, baby
We'll talk about love
Come on down to my place, woman
We'll make love!

Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)
She's kinda dangerous
(Hot child in the city)
Young child
(Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty)
Young child, runnin' wild
(Hot child in the city)
Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)
(Hot child in the city)
(Hot child in the city)
Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)
Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)

Wow, great list....

Sinead O'Connor- I actually listen to some of her other music- some is great for meditating...

Had a buddy who had a cat that when Minnie Riperton came on the radio would go into spasms... really funny...

Lou Bega was quoted as saying he knew he was VERY lucky and planned on riding the Mambo train for every single penny he could get...

My sons get tickled as I still like Rock Me Amadaues.. (not sure why but...)

just too many great songs on there...

This has to be an American chart as several of the artists had many hits in the UK. I saw a similar list once that listed Kylie as a one hit wonder, i nearly fell of the chair in a fit of shocked hysterics.

Well, I did too. A hell of a lot of the music I listen to was actually around before my age hit double figures. :biggrin1:

Ugh...this song makes me violent. IMO, the most inanely insipid bag of wank ever recorded.

You saw that Barbiegirl was on that list, right?
