I know in real life I act much different that I do here. People would be shocked. They don't know though so who cares. I do think about how deceiving it might be though.

Lol, I'm pretty much the same, I'm afraid  Never see the point in acting different, cos then you don't see whether ppl like your real personality or not.

Mind you, wouldn't show my pics all over the place in day-to-day life probably.

Well it depends what your agenda is on these online sites. I have hopes of meeting some nice people in REAL time, so why be anything other than yourself ?

You all have to be more bold here though. It's not like you go around in the real world blabbing you penis size and talking about the kind of porn you like.

Yeh, that's true - you probably talk about things in here that you'd be more reserved about normally - but maybe ppl's personalities are largely the same.

There are certain aspects of my personality that are different between the online world and real life, but those are mostly down to the differences in the medium - online written world vs. physical real world. There are certain things like body language, facial expressions, voice tone and inflection, etc. that don't translate very well into the virtual world, or at all, so it may paint a slightly different picture of what I'm like in person to someone that hasn't met me in real life. I think to a lot of people I talk to, I may seem more interesting online than in person. That's also down to differences in the mediums.

I actually had a real world relationship that went to hell because of too much time spent communicating online and not enough in the real world (lack of opportunities to get together). The differences between the two personalities due to the differences in the mediums drove her away. If it had been 90% real world and 10% online vs the other way around, things would be veeeeeeeery different right now.

I'm not sure I'm any different....I say what I think in real life....and I do that here to.

I am myself in real life...the same here.

Well...I talk more about sex here...

I'm mostly the same, just a bit more open about nudity and stuff like that here

I don't see why considering your national symbol is a small boy taking a piss. Wait.... That means you're all pedophiles! We must inform the Moral Majority Coalition at once! Sneaky Eurotrash types trying to infect the world with your amorality!

Well of the people at LPSG that I have met in real life, I would say that they are exactly the same! And that is a compliment to all of you!

And yeah, who I am here is precisely who I am in person. I'm a bit more quiet and reserved in opinion until I know someone. If anything, I tend to be even more open online and that's actually served me very well as it's given me confidence in meatspace life.

Very true but let us not forget that the truth a character conveys is not lost simply because a character is not real. Fictional characters can have far greater insight into humanity, for good or bad, when well-scripted.

i'm the same too. however, i'll reveal a lot more in PMs than i do on the threads. just kind of careful now about posting pics. i like the new private albums feature. the public gallery pic is old (and labelled as old) don't think anyone from work these days would piece it together. not trying to deceive, just using some caution.
