Would someone mind filling me, an American, in on this thread. Are gyms in the UK/London "drop in" / "pay per visit"? In the US you need to have a membership to nearly any gym, though a rare few do offer day passes. I travel for business from time to time and it'd be great to have the option of visiting a local gym next time I'm in London. Thanks guys.
Most gyms have a drop in rate, but not all. Some will give you free workouts sessions as a taster to joining. So long as you don't have to provide a UK address you could just tell a little white lie.
There's also a site here called Pay As U Gym - you can search by location and get day passes. Not all gyms are on it but you'll have more than enough selection. Sadly it won't list if the showers are open or not. For that, you'd need to try your luck or just call and ask (cite some personal/religious reason for avoiding open showers - a mate of mine does that!)

Whats the nearest gym to Tottenham Court Road that has sauna/jacuzzi that I can turn up and soak in for an hour or so guys? Preferably with a trial too haha

Missed this but I sometimes go to Oasis. Have a Better swim membership -- need to use it more.
I used several Fitness First when I had a membership around Central London but the only one I found that had 'open' showers was the one near Monument. It's a row of showers with small glass panels between each shower head along one wall, but not a proper cubicle. You could step back a few feet and look at others. There's one more shower head at the end where you could see most of the others. That's the only one I know of...
I do - Bedford Street. No open showers there but the Sauna is hot (literally). Always action in there.

Is this the one directly under the north side of London Bridge? If so it's a very small and very quiet gym! I had some fun at the one further up towards St. Paul's. The showers were cubicles but there was meat swinging about everywhere and people having fun in the sauna.
Can anyone recommend any of the other FF gyms? Even outside of London!
Yeah, London Bridge one - many of the FFs have saunas in the men's changing room (with varying degrees of 'play') but not many have open showers. The Covent Garden FF is cubicles but the sauna is often "busy".

You should try Virgin Active Fulham road. The gym itself is crap and old, but there are a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna within the changing rooms. Is fun!

I was having one of those 'lottery win discussions' with a few of my naturist mates recently. Besides the usual 'go traveling, pay off debts for family, friends etc.), I said I'd open a proper gym and spa place for men only and it would be 100% nude all the time. Work out naked, open showers, steam, sauna, jacuzzi etc. all naked. Gay, straight, young (18 & over) and old, fat, fit, thin, it would be a body positive space...and there wouldn't be any issues with guys having fun in the spa area if they wanted, so long as they were respectful to everyone else.
So fingers crossed I win big on the lottery one day. I'll give LPSG guys a discount.
