She is starting to look old and a little haggard.

How do Jesse and Al explain that?

Anyway Okra (did I offend you Al?) doesn't really register for me. I'm more of a NASCAR , Anthony Bourdain, Sarah Silverman dude. Oh yeah, and Giada:heart:. In fact, the only time I actually turned the channel to Oprah was to see my internet infatuation Esmee.

I look at her like a Ted Turner or even Pat Robertson, they have their shows/networks, I watch them like any other channel, if it intrigues me for the moment, I pause momentarily before moving on to the next channel in my surf.

Anyway, I thought it was pathetic Dr. Phil using his influence to get a ground floor exclusive on Britney Spears when they took her away. That ploy backfired with a backlash. I'll even go as far as to bet Oprah was in on it too ?

I will say, she's got the formula down and as long as the ratings are there, she flourishes. I recall over the holidays, she was giving her audience gifts. I don't know whether to believe the bribes were her own philanthrophy or staged by the manufacturers, because every gift given seemed to have it's own little promotional about the company, products features and so on. Don't worry though, the next time you see that item on the shelf, the pricetag has that built into it. Business is business, and the rest of us will have to pay for the free handout.

I don't think Oprah is as wonderful or charitable as others do. She is just as opportunistic as the next pseudo-journalist. Remember when she "nabbed" the Michael Jackson interview years ago. She made him and Elizabeth Taylor look like fools, she totally exploited them. Not that I defend either of them, but her naked ambitiousness was evident to me. She has an agenda just like any political person or celebrity.

I also think she feels her own omnipotence by declaring Obama as her choice for president. Does she really think because her choice of books makes them a number one success will influence people into voting for Obama? I think not.

And I was a bit dismayed when she opened a school for African girls. She made sure the media caught that one. It was all over the news for about a week. Don't the African boys need help too? Their lot in life is not any better.

I predict as some others that she will get involved in politics at some point. Maybe that's why she supports Obama. Do I hear political appointment??

Oprah, with all her "power" in American society, never publicly endorsed any presidential candidate until... You mean Oprah? our dear teacher? our dear mentor?

Oprah, please teach us how to look beyond race.
