“All women become like their mothers. That is their tragedy.
No man does, and that is his.”

Am no much like either of my parents, and glad of it. Narcissistic, hypocritical, bigoted, hyper religious folk. Did learn to plan/budget and take care o household shite, change a tire, hang a picture, and some other useful from. Would never be with my partner if they were like the male who contributed genetic material to them. No a good person. At all.

Wilde was pithy - great with a sound bite. It fit well within the book, “The Importance of Being Ernest”. Is it truly applicable? I can’t speak for men, or anyone other than myself, but I am exactly like my dad. Not my mother. It’s both my tragedy and success.

Personally, I think that people are too complex to fit into a single statement.
