I post only here now.
For a long long time I posted at another board where the moderation was so strict regarding references to sex per se that it was nearly prohibitive to post for me at all. I was pretty much the token gay dude.
Then, in the final analysis, it was largely comprised (the posting membership) of straight males and housewives. Unintentionally, I offended people too easily and was often asked to "stop using big words". I knew I was shit out of luck at that point.
Eventually one particular poster (who owns a webblog of his own) decided to make me his cause célèbre and poke and prod at me until he did real damage to my character and my anonymity on the internet. He went so far as to post my personal whereabouts and telephone number on his site. It left a gaping wound and a distrust of the internet from which I have learned and will never fully recover. It's one reason I'm so careful about personal information on here - though I have never felt threatened at LPSG.
In praise of the LPSG site I must say that it has been a singularly refreshing phenomenon to be a part of a group where intelligence and open-mindedness are prized above all things and where people post (generally speaking mind you) with either decency or a clever turn of wit.
So................. fuck it. I'm staying put.
I've made at least one good friend here and several potentially good ones. (You guys know who you are) :wink:
