I think that I have so far re-written this posting about seven times. How do I write a posting that tries to protect my fellow man when at the same time I do not feel that he should need that protection.

I think that porn and the people that made it have changed over the past 30 years and that change has not been for the better.

In that same 30 years we have had the appearances of multiple STD's that cause a risk, with HIV being one of the less problematic ones. We have also had a legal system that has been mired and influenced heavily by conservatives promoting a religious viewpoint with regards to sexual activity that most on this board would consider puritanical and oppressive.

I personally think that within ten to fifteen years that porn as we know it will have died. By that time CGI will have progressed in realism and dropped in cost so much that it will be able to be done extremely well and with no risk to living human beings. The other advantage to doing it 100% in CGI will be the effect of the computer generated porn on the legal system. They cannot arrest and prosecute a cartoon image no matter what it does. The next thing with CGI porn is that there ceases to be limits on what is and is not possible.

At one time I would have laughed and endorsed the fun of a porn shoot. These days it is taking a chance and if laws continue to change and freedoms continue to erode, who knows where the legal systems will go with regards to porn.

I may have said Yeah even a few years ago, but if anyone I really cared about came to me now I would adivse one and all to consider how far to the right this country has moved in the past eight years and consider what may happen in the future if this trend continues.
