First I'll say that I don't think this is anal sex-related at all. I have only bottomed once and it was very brief and a while ago.

I had a bad cold (perhaps the flu?) over the weekend and I'm about 90% better now. But a few days ago, probably around Monday or Tuesday, I started feeling some pain in my ass. Nothing too bad, but I did feel it a bit when going to the bathroom and to a lesser degree just walking and moving around. The pain has gotten a tad worse and now I'm a little worried.

Anyone have an idea as to what's up? At what point do I consider seeing a doctor?

hemorrhoid ? I would lean toward this especially if you've been coughing hard, sneezing a lot, projectile vomiting or explosive diarrhea... just a thought?

I think you might have a slight prostate infection; that could have been exacerbated by too much caffeine. If you sit on the floor for about ten minutes with your ass pressed flat on the floor and the pain is alleviated then that might be what it is. No matter what all of us say in this thread my best advice is to contact your primary care physician and get it checked by a medical professional. Pain means something and it's there to get our attention.

No bleeding yet. Although the pain is the worst it's been today, hurts a good deal more to go #2.

I'll try doing that, nude.

EDIT: Just called the DR. Gonna try to get an appointment tomorrow since they are booked today.

I had the same problem a while back, I also had some blood (the doctor did a prostate exam) and I had a small amount of blood which could not be seen in my stool and led to a colonoscopy and so forth. The doctor had no luck in solving what was wrong (other than his guess at irritable bowel syndrome). I was in horrible pain, in tears some days. It's definitely best to go get checked, and Good luck!

I'd guess at this - but a check up with the Doc is the best bet. :)

Ditto. Don't be afraid of the doc. Given your previous illness it probably is a prostrate inflammation and/or infection of some type.

If the doc gives you anything for it, make sure you take the full dose and the entire prescription.
