Fuck Bush and his "ally" Pakistan. They are no ally of the U.S. Pakistan allows these terror groups to function in their country unchecked. By Bush doctrine definition, they are a terror state yet Bush has done nothing.
These aren't failed foreign policies; these are policies that are only actionable when it conforms to Bush's agenda.
The darling of our national security is turning out to be a Carter of national security.
Yes, Pakistan harbors terrorists and not just deep in the interior, but at the Indian borders as well.
However, what could Bush do? He can't influence people to adopt a more secular society from the outside (it is well documented that we've tried for 30 years in Iran, and it doesn't work) and we can't not deal with them - so Bush, and all other leaders for the past 50 years have done their best in dealing with the state. That's just the way it currently is.
Imo, Imran Khan, is really the best potential leader for Pakistan; he is very reform minded, but I do not see him doing anything like that for years because he has sons. At this point, he's more influential in civil society anyway.
Pakistan is a wasteland that has little real control on those within but you cannot knock the help we have gotten lately or knock George Bush befriending and unstable nuclear power.
This is not true, Pakistan is not a wasteland.
Also, it isn't that Pakistan has no control over the radical enclaves, it is that no one has really tried because these areas are self-sustaining and stable.
]If it makes you feel better, you can look for Obama giving Pakistan the same treatment Bush has
This is true.
There are no large penises in Pakistan - so take this conversation elsewhere, please! (Unless you know something we don't already know!)
This isn't true either. :naughty:
