Any lawyer worth his retainer would advise her not to cooperate.

That means something only if you want it to.
You have a point, but in this case, there is some Republican cooperation with this investigation. The Republicans have control of the houses of the legislature in Alaska. It isn't a witch hunt just by the Democrats. If it is a witch hunt, as some have suggested, then there are some Republicans joining in the hunt.

This has the possibility though of unraveling her campaign.

That's right. She fought the GOP establishment.. she might just get bit from both sides. She made enemies, and making enemies is a good way to be sure you get kicked while you are down.

McCain sure made a stupid choice.

And if she were anyone else, she should agree and do that. She is, right now, one of four people in the country who should do the exact opposite and declare, "We're cooperating fully as we have nothing to hide. Next question?"

Imagine this. You're applying for a job while back at your old job they are investigating you for misconduct. Who would hire you? I'm afraid to ask that question. Only in the public space would it even fly. If the democrats can't make hay out of this...well. Yeah I bet she won't cooperate not until after election day.

Palin is not going to cooperate with the investigation. Another Youtube site said it wasn't clear whether her husband would answer a subpoena.

I've noticed that troopergate questions made her uncomfortable. In addition to that scandal as governor she's conducted state business in a very secretive manner. I suspect she's hiding a whole mess of sins.

The New York Times > Log In

N.Y.T. Excerpt:

While Ms. Palin took office promising a more open government, her administration has battled to keep information secret. Her inner circle discussed the benefit of using private e-mail addresses. An assistant told her it appeared that such e-mail messages sent to a private address on a “personal device” like a BlackBerry “would be confidential and not subject to subpoena.”

Didn't Palin agree originally with to cooperate with any investigations? Then she complained about the persons leading the investigation, claiming they had a political vendetta against her and wanted investigators replaced. Now, she's saying she won't meet with them at all. I wonder if her husband, who's also under investigation, is also going to fight his subpoena.

Is anyone else tired of the endless -gate suffixes?

It doens't even sound right unless you have some similar enunciations in there. The only one I've heard that sounded anything close to Watergate was Rathergate

Wooten's Alleged Abuses

Palin alleged in 2005 that Wooten had threatened her sister and their father with violence. She also accused him of using a Taser on his 10-year-old stepson. Wooten denies threatening Palin's family, but admits using the stun-gun on his stepson at the child's request.2

I thik that grounds for termination. End of story. Do you really want someone like that as a police officer?

The conduct of Trooper Wooten has nothing, nada, to do with this issue. Whatever he did, his discipline goes through the normal channels. The matter in question is what pressure did Sarah Palin bring on the Director of Public Safety? The trooper gets disciplined like every other trooper, and should be treated no differently, one way or the other, because the governor is his ex-sister-in-law.

And some people STILL don't know, the Republicans hold a majority in the Alaska legislature and on all committees. THEY are the ones controlling the investigation, not democrats.

That's foolish. The public reads No Cooperation as Something To Hide.
Then exactly what else do you call it?
I bet she has more skeletons to hide in her closet
A LOT MORE!
Besides, what we've been told, who the hell is this Sarah Palin person anyway?
The one thing you can put your money on, the repugs have her all lawyered up now.
Why is it that in the beginning, she said she was willing to cooperate, and now she won't?
Aren't you the least bit curious?
Personally, I'm sick of republicans living by their own set of laws in this country....I'M SICK TO DEATH OF IT
