Palin Crossed Border For Canadian Health Care

"We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada," Palin said in her first Canadian appearance since stepping down as governor of Alaska. "And I think now, isn't that ironic?"

Yeah, ironic. That's what it is.

Fucking A.

She has told more than one version of the story, in the town of Skagway in
'07, she said that her mother took her brother by ferry to a hospital Juneau for his burned foot back in the 60's.

Sarah is definitely the poster child for something, the real joke in this is that even she doesn't know what it is!

I would say she is the poster child for proof that a dimwitted, airheaded, buffoon of a nobody can get 100 million+ left-wingers stirred into a tizzy 24/7 for a year and a half....and counting.

Speaking for myself, I would say no more than 100 million minus one.

I really don't consider myself a winger though, so maybe I don't count.

I do think she's pretty funny sometimes, when she's not being all fascist and stuff.

It's actually a twofold issue... one, the hard rightwingnuts cling to her like she's the 2nd coming of Christ, basically because they have nobody else to prop up that pretends to be just as nutty as they are, and is highly presentable to the cameras. It gives them delusions of Reagan (which is ludicrous, but anyways)... Two, after the Bush II disaster, the left is INSANELY against anymore wingnut candidates, and will do whatever they can to politically assassinate such candidates before they can even rise to prominence.

Obviously, the corporate media isn't stupid and is going to milk such contested ground for every cent it's worth. Palin is just a tool. The good thing for her is she figured out pretty quickly after the disastrous McCain campaign that her future in politics was pretty much shot. So, she shifted gears and has fully embraced her celebrity role and is raking in the dough hand over fist.

I dunno. Possibly the ultimate triumph of image over substance in political candidates?
You're thinking of Obama.
wow. great retort. how long did that take you?
No, that would be the Obamination!
wow. original. even better the second time.
you and Buildingtaunt should team up on the comedy circuit.
but that might require you learning to read.

This says loads about the Palinites.

Sarah Palin's parents took their children to the nearest hospital for care.

Just came across the video clip used by MSNBC and then used by Fixed News. It's rather amusing, by golly. wink wink YouTube - The Palin Files - No#1 - Sarah Endorses Socialized Medicine

Thanks for the link but the truth is:

And that was it: a simple admission that I didn't think much of then, and still don't think much of now. Whitehorse General Hospital, where my own daughter was born three years ago, remains, to this day, the closest major hospital to Skagway. When Chuck and Sally chose to take their kids there, it would have been a choice dictated strictly by geography, not politics. There are many things one could criticize about Sarah Palin's views of health care in the United States. That she once participated in cross-border medical tourism to Canada is not one of them.

Did Palin's Parents have to appear before a Death Panel before the Inferior Socialist Canadian Health Care system took care of their Children??? How long did they have to wait to be seen??Months? Years?

It was 35-40 years ago...but to answer your questions: I don't imagine so. Though the reason Palin made the reference in her speech was to acknowledge some of the good workings of the system. People who go to the hospital in Canada are probably taken care of - back then and today. However that does not mean that quality of care isn't reduced to reduce cost and tough decisions on who gets what, aren't also made to address the issues of cost. That also doesn't erase the long lines, and months wait times for procedures or even for a family doctor TODAY in the Canadian Healthcare system.

It's funny........that doesn't appear to be the experience of the many Candian LPSG'ers who have posted here.
