Sexuality
50% Straight, 50% Gay
I have only just come across the term and I must say I find the whole notion of Pansexuality fasinating.
I guess my intrest in diffrent asspects of human sexuality has be pricked due to my recent move to Bi sexuality
Pansexuality - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I would be intresting to hear the thoughts from other people on Pansexuality.

hmm... interesting. i've never heard of pansexuals. i took a human sexuality course a few semesters back and i'm surprised this topic didn't come up. my professor had discussed intersexed relationships, which pansexuality somewhat relates to, however, pansexuality was never brought up. i'm going to have to do more research on this.

The spectrum is quite wide. I fall under the bigender. Once you look into these things.. it opens your mind to more than just the typical genders and orientations.

I read the article, but I must be denser than most -- I don't really get the difference other than it includes transsexuals and gender benders.

At least "pansexual": doesn't include animals or incest!!!

I first saw the word used on an adult video message board to describe the same European porn stars (mainly Hungarian) who have no qualms about appearing (and performing marvelously) in straight, gay, bi and transsexual features.

In certain segments of Central European and Brazilian populations, there is a real blurring of roles and an openness that extends way beyond the rigid, boundary-heavy paradigms of American and Western European sex performers.

It's also a decent enough label for straight men getting "pegged" (strap-on/dildo fucked by a woman) during a scene which otherwise includes the same couple having more "traditional" sex. Or guys JOing each other during an otherwise standard gang-bang flick.

Since porn is a kind of projection of the fantasies of the director/producer(s), it's an interesting new trend in representing what has always been part of human sexuality, unrestrained by conventional mores. I have the feeling that the ancient Romans, for instance, were widely Pansexual. And am I the only one who's read his Sade? It is entirely Pansexual.

On the message board I mentioned earlier in the post, the term Pansexual(ity) was pretty controversial, it being neither fish nor fowl. The majority of members was male and American, Canadian, Australian or from the UK, and struck a lot of raw nerves. Anglo-Saxon notions of what constitutes gay, straight and/or bi tend to be much more rigid than in other places.

The actual product, which is one of my favorite categories of porn, ranges from almost excessively vanilla and romantic to as extreme as fetish porn ever gets. It's a tiny but growing segment of the market.

My sister, who is two years younger than me, was the most adventurous pansexual/polyamorous person I've ever met, at least in her younger years. Unrestrained totally by any conventional sense of labels or "appropriate" behavior, she would inevitably leave a gay nightclub with the most beautiful person there: male, female, transgendered or (occasionally) a couple. Boston in the early 80s had a very open scene until the advent of AIDS. Having dodged the bullet (many times), she retreated into a more standard lesbianism by 1984-85, where she's stayed ever since.

I would have to say that I qualify as pansexual..

It ALL utterly fascinates me and none of it really turns me off.
Everything from fetish to straight romance... multiples, B&D, S&M, interacial, mmf, mff, fff, mmfdts, mmmmmmmm....

"nothing human is strange to me."

Thanks for bringing up this topic.

A while back, someone jumped all over my ass for defining myself as straight. (For some strange reason, I thought I had control of my own sexual identity.)

I love the sight of an attractive woman. Curves drive me wild. All my sexual fantasies revolve around women. Kissing, snuggling, and touching (OK, pawing) are all favorite ways to spend time. I see and define myself as being straight.

Here’s the rub that set some guy off. Every once in a while, I’ll get off with guys. I’ve been sucked and jacked off and fucked a couple of times. He says I have to be bisexual and am probably gay. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just not about me. If I were gay or bisexual, I’d be totally fine with the label.

For me, I’m attracted to women. My sexual desires are focused on women. I have zero romantic interest in men. I just don’t get that churning in the gut feeling when I see men.

Getting off with men is just that…. Getting off… with men. It’s like masturbation. It feels good.

My two cents. Hope it adds something.

By the way, if anyone wants to know about curves that can drive a man wild, check out Dragonfly.

Anywho. . .isn't pansexuality basically bisexuality? I mean, they have sex with both, so. . .

It's beyond bisexuality: basically a refusal to categorize one's erotic impulse or drive by any conventional label.

All this classification of one's sexuality -homo, hetero, bi- was popularized by Germans and German-speaking people in the 19th century. What a surprise

Some people can't stay focused. And try to defend it with other labels.

Pansexuality.

It's a short step towards pantheistic belief. Which would be better inherit than specifics like Baptism...Islam and the like.

FWIW, I'm a flaming pagan, too. Although I don't sacrifice sheep, my spirituality comes much closer to Pantheism than anything widely practiced today.

It's all Greek to me. :biggrin1:

Seriously, it's an interesting concept.

Perhaps theres a little bit of this in me somewhere... Its a very interesting concept.
I can find both men and women extremely asthetically pleasing. The difference is that when I see a really good looking man, although I feel drawn to him, I dont feel the urge to have sex with him at all, like I would with an incredibly hot woman... But I can appreciate how good looking he is.

Weird...
