I think "monet" is just jealous of someone else's success. I personally loved the movie and was scared out of my mind toward the end. Great movie for halloween!

That's just sad that you guys think I'm jealous. I'm calling out a trashy piece of crap for what it is: garbage. I went to film school because I'm passionate about the art and craft so seeing something like this (which somehow became a hit due to the hype) is just an insult to the craft.

I'm not a filmmaker anymore and wouldn't consider myself one. Jealous of what? I already said I'm glad Micah is getting exposure, but that doesn't negate the fact that his acting abilities sucks. In fact, he's just a tad less obnoxious in real life than in the movie so he's really not even acting. Anyway, a film requires a lot of planning, a script, direction, pre and post production, sound, etc..and this thing had none of that. It is basically a porn cam set in a bedroom with some guy stomping in the stairs for 2 hours! I doubt there was even a light meter on the set. Why? Because they figured it's a digital camera so everything is automatic.

Eh, whatever. It's trash like this, Transformers, the Watchmen, etc, that ruins movies. I question people's taste if they really like this movie. Nothing makes sense in it.

By the way, they shot and edited the movie in less than a week, never leaving the house once. That's not impressive, that's sloppy. But whatever, if you like it I can't convince you otherwise if you're already set on your argument.

Eh, whatever. It's trash like this, Transformers, the Watchmen, etc, that ruins movies. I question people's taste if they really like this movie. Nothing makes sense in it.

The word paranormal describes something that lacks scientific explanation. It's not supposed to make sense. I thought the movie was quite effective although I wish I hadn't seen the trailer. I would've enjoyed it more. IMO, the best horror films are effective when a sense of dread and apprehension is created as it was in this film.

Much better than I expected it to be. Refreshing to see a modern horror movie not go the way of Rob Zombie-directed films . Not great by any means, but enjoyable. Worth my time :biggthumpup:.

I just finished watching it @ home...much creepier than in theatre w/ lots of people..I thought it was pretty scary...cheesy @ times...but def worthy of all the acclaim its getting..and Micah's hot

I'll back monet a little bit.

I'll say a little bit because I thought it was still relatively well made with some decent creep scenes. Probably a B- in my book.

My issues with the movie are
1) It's been done before. Blair Witch and Cloverfield are some BIG NAME movies in that style. There have been a lot of other ones even before Blair Witch (like Cannibal Holocaust). I thought Blair Witch and Cloverfield were both better.

2) While I don't think the acting was bad (a little shakey at some parts but you know, totally fine if you ask me), the characters were aggravatingly stupid and predictable. You know how in some movies you want to scream at the movie because characters do such stupid shit? Yeah that's how I felt in this movie.

For example: Micah is played off as a doubter (he doubts the psychic and thinks he'll full of crap), but yet he believes in that stuff (he's researching it in books and believing it IS a demon?)

VERY MINOR SPOILER COMING UP
The second the guy said "hey, don't use a ouija board" I know for sure Micah was going to use one and that he was going to get around his promise by some stupid loop hole. Sure enough he did.

Micah went out of his way to aggravate the spirit too. No one does that unless nothing really happens. And things had started to happen and he was STILL trying to piss the spirit off.
