You are being dramatic. The sky is not falling.

LOL... no. That's actually true. The sky isn't falling. It's not the sky I'm worried about.

Like I said... ignorance is bullshit.

ETA: I'll tell you what tho BD.. if 97% of the worlds sky scientists tell us that the sky is in fact falling, and they have the concrete evidence to prove it, I'll likely believe their 'elitist asses'.

"The sky is falling" meme is what they get straight out of Reich Wing media. You hear it all the time as a way to dismiss the urgency of immediate action.

They aren't capable of understanding sicience, the environment and the sheer scale and magnitude of the changes against the vast timelines science tells us these things happen. I wouldn't be surprised if he tells you the Earth is 5000 years old and God will take care of humans and not to worry.

That's a whole other aspect to this horror story that rolls around in my head. Some of these climate deniers are also the same people rooting for the 'end times' and all that nonsense. Like they want us all to burn for their fairy tales.

Is it too much to ask that we focus on rebuilding our failing infrastructure, getting the king makers and their money out of politics, and saving the rage for those trying to kill us by blowing up concerts and shooting up night clubs?

I don't know about you, but I'm thinking we've been multi-tasking a lot of shit for a long time. I'm pretty sure keeping the climate livable for human life should be pretty high on that list of priorities right next to and/or above what you bring up here. Instead we sit around arguing whether or not Validated Facts about the extreme weather conditions are worth paying attention to along with all the other shit going on.

When has society not been complicated as fuck? Why not just suck it up and try to make society better as a whole instead of pick and choose which issues you feel the most conflicted about and look at the actual stats and face the actual facts that none of those thing you mentioned will matter when there are literal fucking water wars going on. Seriously, how is this not Painfully Obvious?

I think I can help you wrap your head around on this.

Despite what Sargon thinks, the earth has been around for about 4.5 billion years. There have been ice ages and very warm periods. Humanity has been around for a long time under various climate conditions, hot, cold and in between. We've survived.

If this climate change hysteria is true (it is not) and we are all going to die (we won't) then just think of it as the planet having an abortion.

I'm positive you're the one not able to wrap your head around the facts at hand.

During our specie's time on this planet, we've never seen temperature patterns like what we see today... and it started this new trend when we started pumping fossil fuels and burning them.

Come on, rub those brain cells together... you can do it.

typical negativity of Trumplike total deniers
cant people just throw in humans are 'contributing' to the scenario playing out
is it such a major probblem for us to change our behaviour

and i admit i am not 100pc over the top with GW/CC and all it entails, i still love my v8s,why give up something millions enjoy, live enjoyed since a kid
but we can contribute, theres that word again in annother context, in many other ways

Oh, and BTW... I regularly converse with people who actually conduct studies and travel the world to do their research on this exact topic. Climate denying Chrumps and their nonsense means nothing to me because I have actual information on my side.

Ten-million-year record of oxygen stable isotopes, measured in foraminifera recovered from deep-sea sediment cores, illustrates that global ocean temperature and glacial ice varied widely over the past 6 million years, the period of human evolution.

findings
Evolution of the genus Homo and of the adaptations that typify H. sapiens were associated with the largest oscillations in global climate.

Hey, keep explaining yourself BS. It's good therapy.

Let's get somethig straight. YOU are the one who stated he went back to "peruse" 67 posts of someone you, yet again, took exception with and entered into another set of profanity ridden, personal attacks, which is a clear pattern of yours. That in itself says plenty about your mindset. You obviously have way too much time on your hands and take this forum, on a BIG DICK site no less, too seriously. You have some overwhelming need to prove something to yourself and others with threats and attacks. You need to own your behavior and admit it is YOU, and only you, not "people", who incessantly evokes the threat, and often feel the need to follow through, of bringing up prior posts as an attempt to disparage people's views or comments whenever they are different from yours. You refuse to acknowledge that people may have differnet views, at different times, on different topics. And you then expect, no, demand and call out, members give the same über hightened level of passion and attention to those topics you deem as most pertinent. You continue to have problems with members on this site - - issues with me, the poster with whom you started In this thread that initiated this very discourse, and with another poster as recent as a week ago whose identify I will not disclose.

BC, YOU need to OWN your behavior, and stop harassing anyone who doesn't share your views.
No research was needed on my part to find the things you said. Every time you have been asked to explain your mindset you have failed to do so there than the one time you attempted to deny you ever said that.

You began a thread on racist comments and then refused to deal with your own.
You comment that commenting on a thread that you don't agree with is laughable and wrong but then comment on a different thread that you find no one commenting on it wrong.

Do you notice your inconsistencies?

Until you explain where you are and what you do in the scheme of things. Your opinion to me is shit.
I do know that he is someone who denies that Florida is a victim of rising sea levels. As a resident of Miami I can attest that nearly every time it rains area of downtown Miami are flooded, including South Beach.

Yep the end of the world is already foretold in the Bible so they don't have a worry or fear in causing it.

That is a nonsense argument and you know it. Not all climate change skeptics are religious. Even if they were, the Bible is quite clear that no one knows WHEN the world will end. It could be in one hour or 10 million years from now, who knows.

Americans are the most independent minded people on the planet. It is in our DNA.

Do you mean independent minded in the sense of a shoal of fish?

I have found the Vietnamese to be more independent minded than you.

And most 11 year olds have a better understanding of DNA.

No offense, I understand indoctrination within State education. If you can call it that.

Didn't say we should ignore climate change. I was making the point that the Paris Accord did little to nothing addressing climate change. It was criticized by the left and right when it was signed for this reason. I see no reason to get enraged or even a little upset over a nonbinding agreement that would have done virtually nothing to address the issue.

Now if the Accord was projected to actually significantly slow or even stop the planets rising temps, I would be utterly pissed and calling for Trumps head on a stick like everyone else. The Paris Accord did not do that. It was never going to do that. It was not and is not worth the paper it's written on. It is little more than a suggestion that maybe the worst polluting countries might possibly consider not polluting quite so much in about 30 years. Meanwhile other countries will dump huge amounts of money into developing countries with no restriction on how that money would be spent and if the naughty nations didn't reduce their emissions, well... shucks....

The Paris Accord had no enforcement measures and wasn't projected to do anything of substance on the issue it was created to address. It is an international pyramid scheme.
