LOL, First of all Planned ParentHood didn't even begin to endorse Obama until after Hillary Clinton conceded the race...so thats after the Primary.
Second of all, Many factions of NARAL itself broke with NARAL over the endorsement of Obama and many other women's groups fully denounced the endorsement. Many factions of NARAL were for Sen. Hillary Clinton. Sen. Clinton's record is so impeccable I don't even have to list it. Hillary Clinton has stood on the issue women's reproductive rights and Hillary Clinton has done more than Barack Obama.NARAL Affiliates Question Obama Endorsement
Washington Post - Excerpt
By Garance Franke-Ruta
NARAL Pro-Choice America affiliates in key swing and primary states are openly distancing themselves from the decision by NARAL Pro-Choice America to endorse Illinois Sen. Barack Obama over Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton to be the Democratic nominee for president.
Since yesterday's announcement, NARAL groups in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Oregon, Washington, Texas and New York -- Clinton's home state -- have issued statements signaling their continued neutrality in the Democratic race and emphasizing that the national group did not speak for them on this matter.
Massive Blowback To NARAL's Obama Endorsement
The Huffington Post - excerpts
Marcia Pappas, the head of
National Organization of Women, New York -- who famously accused Ted Kennedy for betraying women by endorsing Obama -- would not even commit to supporting the Illinois Democrat in the general election.
...Hours after Obama received the support of NARAL's Political Action Committee, the organization's Washington branch felt compelled to announce its continued neutrality and disappointment with the endorsement.
"We strongly disagree with NARAL Pro-Choice America's decision to endorse at this time...
EMILY's List Trashes NARAL for Obama Endorsement
The New York Observer
by Jason Horowitz | May 14, 2008 |
EMILY's List, which supports Hillary Clinton, reacts harshly to what it calls the "tremendously disrespectful" endorsement of Barack Obama by NARAL.
The following is a statement from EMILYs List president Ellen R. Malcolm on NARALs endorsement in the Democratic presidential competition:
I think it is tremendously disrespectful to Sen. Clinton - who held up the nomination of a FDA commissioner in order to force approval of Plan B and who spoke so eloquently during the Supreme Court nomination about the importance of protecting Roe vs. Wade - to not give her the courtesy to finish the final three weeks of the primary process. It certainly must be disconcerting for elected leaders who stand up for reproductive rights and expect the choice community will stand with them.
I believe the following article sums it up best. Obama says he stands on the issue of reproductive rights, abortion rights and choice but then he makes contradicting statements and votes present on issues. Who knows what Obama will do given power? But between a choice between him and McCain who is Pro-Life of course any group would settle for Obama. However, American Voters do not have to settle for Obama because of Roe v. Wade or fear no birth control:Chicago Tribune- The Swamp
Planned Parenthood endorses Obama
July 7 -Excerpt
Planned Parenthood, the zealous advocate for abortion rights, said Monday night that it is throwing its full support behind the Democratic candidate.
It's not like it had much choice; after all, John McCain wants
Roe v. Wade overturned. But the timing is significant.
This weekend, Obama found himself in the midst of a small tempest, first stirred up by our old colleague, Jan Crawford Greenburg of ABC News, who
reported that Obama's remarks to a religious magazine on abortion seemed to suggest he was departing significantly from the standard Democratic party line on the issue.
Obama, in the interview, said that for a woman to receive a late-term abortion, past the stage of viability, she must show some sort of physical condition necessitating the termination of the pregnancy.
Obama's campaign has yet to reconcile the disparity between his stated position this weekend and the language of the act.
That is the way immature people think who don't know who they are and what is really important life. Just because misguided people find value in the wrong things does not make them right. And to be clear...it has nothing to do with jealousy of an easy life. It has to do with living a meaningful life that one can be proud of. I doubt Paris Hilton and her family are proud of men selling her sex tapes and having Herpes. I doubt she will be proud of her life when she is older.
