At the age of 21 I had to be operated due to phimosis. Although I never had problems before, within the course of a few months I was no longer able to retract my foreskin. My doctor advised me to not have a full circumcision but to only remove the affected skin at the tip of the foreskin. My foreskin still covers about 3/4 of the glans. My foreskin does now tend to slip back very easily now - which irritated me especially when showering after sport because I constantly had to pull it back and it looked as if I was constantly playing with my willy while showering with the guys! Now I just usually leave it retracted when I am naked amongst others. I am however glad that I still have (most of) my foreskin and still wouldn't opt for a complete circumcision.

BTW, un the 1970s and early 1980s, medical/urology books strongly recommended AGAINST partial circumcisions because they do not eliminate the risk of phimosis etc. This was mostly for teenage/adult circs. (for baby circs, the "aiming" of the scalpel is more of an art than science).

These days, partial circs are no longer shunned as much since so many are done for cosmetic reasons and not to fi foreskin problems.

BTW, after my first snip, I continued to consider myself uncut and still against circumcision. The goal was to shorten foreskin, not to become "circumcised" to fit in. Took about 12 years before someone told me I was circumcised (saw me hard, saw the circ line) and that made me realise that when hard, I was truly no longer uncut and started my acceptance I was no longer uncut.

For guys done at birth and told by parents "yeah, you were circumciused", they have no problem considering themselves to be circumcised despite having so mucy foreskin left since they started off that way. I started off uncut, so switching circ status when that was not the intention was a bit more involved mentally.

I chose to get circumcised as an adult.
Depending on how "soft" I am, my glans is about 1/ covered, sometimes more. I had doctors approach me after a surgery to talk me in to getting cut, i had to explain to them that I already was.
I don't know anyone personally that is ambiguously cut.
I bounce back and forth on cut vs. uncut, in the end the owner of the cock should make the choice.

It looks like the DR. left your whole inner layer of foreskin intact. He may have done it freehand without using any kind of clamp. My scar looks somewhat like your scar and it was done freehand as far as I know in my youth.
