The problem with most political threads of any count is that some inordinate amount of noise is supplied by the ass lickers and the cock suckers.

Anybody who can't admit that Bush is a war criminal for sanctioning torture is an ass licker. Anybody who can't get over WMD's and see the value of what may yet become of Iraq is a cock sucker.

Anybody who speaks vitriolically against Obama's overture to Iran (albeit premature) is an ass licker. Anybody who doesn't get that Obama's current economic strategy is ill conceived, Chavezesque socialism is a cock sucker.

It is the state of the denial to truth that is indicative of people who shouldn't be allowed to vote because they simply can't weigh the evidence appropriately.

For those keeping score neocons=ass lickers and libtards=cock suckers. Not much of an insult in this denizen.:biggrin1:

Ironic given the years you've probably wasted on the neocons vs. libtards rantings you've read that had absolutely no insight to a fucking thing because they start so very far from the truth.

Well, if we are going to stick to sexual practices and the vein in which the OP started, I'd say missionary. It's probably why we are so few, us fence sitters. I can only think of one other here.

Most people who claim to sit on the fence still lean to one side more often than the other. Very rarely do you find people who are completely down the middle.

Someone draws their little lines in quick-drying concrete don't they?

Must be nice to see life in a series of blacks and whites and not to be bothered with all those pesky greys.

Simple life for a simpleton? Oh, I don't know. Maybe I'm just having a bad day.

Not the fault of the man on the fence if the fence keeps moving around as left and right posture themselves to each other and try to keep the fence moving outwards from them.

Its not a matter of not getting over WMD's- its a matter of a trillion dollars BORROWED against our future on the basis of LIES. Torture is one thing.. but getting us into Iraq in that manner was TREASON.
WOULD the US be int Iraq if we had not been lied to?

What may come in Iraq will come when we LEAVE. And what we leave behind is Half a million Dead, who would be alive today if not for us.

Sorry, but I do not cotton to someone putting blood on my hands for reasons that were known to be false ahead of time.

The primary difference between Bush's economic strategy and Obamas, is that Bush just wanted to HAND 20 years worth of taxpayers money to the richest and most irresponsible fucks in the nation... no questions asked.

A policy of larceny, graft and transferring vast wealth into the hands of 400 people.
    That's not socialism... that's Despotism.

Obama is not the one who nationalized the banks... BUSH did... with ZERO oversight.
Obama is not the one who de-regulated the nation into the shitter... BUSH did.

What Obama is doing is fully and entirely supported by EVERY respected economist... with the exception of the Republican demanded TAX BREAKS FOR THE WELL OFF.

When FDR instituted the New Deal, unemployment in the US was 30% Within 4 years the New Deal had rebuilt the US economy to EXCEED its maximum pre-29 crash level. Unemployment had been cut in HALF, and the ONLY hiccup in recovery was caused by his suspension of the new deal in 37 to address Republican demands.

Let me tell you something. Anyone who thinks Government running essential services with taxpayer dollars- essentially making sure the American people's money is spent benefiting the American people... anyone imagining that is "socialism" is a moron of the first order.

Conservatives want to Re-distribute wealth- they just want it ALL to be redistributed to the wealthy. They want the taxes poaid by the middle class to be dumped into the laps of the Corporate CEO's who skim off their personal fortunes and let the rest 'trickle down'.

Anyone who doesn't see that THAT is re-distribution of wealth is an imbecile.

We have PROOF that free market economics and trickle down does not work.
    It is, in fact, disastrous.

We have had 20 years of Republican economic thinking and what we have to show for it is crumbling roads, bridges, damns, levees and electrical grids. The States bankrupted, our military spent, our position in the world weakened..
    and for what?

To make a handful of already wealthy people even more wealthy. To allow speculators to manipulate the price of gas?

    You think THAT is working?

The societies that are successful are those that maximize freedom of markets WITHIN well defined and policed regualtions that ensure fair play, and stifle graft. Societies that USE tax dollars to maintain and invest in the infrastructure that no quarterly reporting private interest will maintain because there's no 20 million dollar bonus in it for them.

We privatized the electrical grid... if Private enterprise is so damn good HOW COME THE GRID IS FAILING? Why didn't they invest their profits into maintaining and upgrading their OWN, profit making power equipment?

Why? Because it would have come out of their bonuses and dividends... and because the Free market government did not MAKE them do it thru regulation and oversight.
The fat asses rich fucks who run the electical companies just figured when it all goes to hell...the Govenrment will HAVE to step in and fix it FOR them...

California had 40 billion dollars stolen from it thru electrical market manipulations...
Why? Cause the government was not REGULATING it. And the thief, ENRON, STILL went under... How can you cheat customers out of 40 billion in overcharges and STILL go belly up?
Have the SEC take an 8 year vacation, that's how.

And when you see Oil company execs offshoring their obscenely huge profits to evade paying US taxes... Where did those billions comes from?
Why, from manipulating the gas market and sucking $4 a gallon out of the pocket of every driver in the nation... ( which, by the way, was the the economic PUSH that started the whole collapse rolling)

And how did the get away with that? Why, Bush made market manipulation of gas prices LEGAL.
WHY would he do that? Cause his family and all his friends are in the OIL business?

We have seen the power... and mindless irresponsibility of unrestrained capitalism.
Anyone not seeing that is a dimwit.

The pendulum has been way far to the extremist right for a long time now... it NEEDS to come back to some sense of moral good. Less individual avarice, more civic virtue.

What Obama is doing is restoring civic virtue to governance.

Anyone not seeing that is an asswipe and beneath contempt.

The division is not Democrat vs. Republican. It is free thinkers vs. retards. Here's an old post unedited because to correct your manner of thinking is at this point irrelevant. Your dogma is set. It is the unformed opinions that are going to matter. In that venue you and your Republican counterparts fail miserably.

Obama was against the war because he comes form a liberation theology perspective. If Bush had gone in prepared to win the war and with numbers for a sustainable occupation Obama would have been wrong.

As a matter of fact he remains wrong. We were enforcing no-fly-zones and an economic embargo on Iraq. These policies hurt the Iraqi people and did not loosen the grip of Saddam on his country. These policies in fact damaged our prestige and good will with Muslims in the Middle-East. We had three choices:

    1) Keep up our policies indefinitely at great monetary and political cost.
    2) Walk away from the situation and leave Saddam to his own devices.
    3) Invade and restore Iraq from rogue state classification

The no fly zones were deemed illegal and they were going to be sunsetted. Saddam, as his debriefer has recently stated on national television, was waiting for the pressure to subside and was going to return to gathering WMD's. His policies included various tactics that destabilized the world. Such as sending money to the family members of suicide bombers in Israel. His demonic sons were going to inherit the power at some point. Leaving the region with decades of a hellish reality.

We had to invade. We invaded poorly prepared for an occupation and that is our disgrace.

Obama can make a great case. Which I swallowed up until I found out about his roots in liberation theology. He is no genius in "seeing" the consequences of the invasion he merely extrapolated from his liberation theology world view.

Finally, Americans didn't kill 500,000 Iraqi's it was Iraqi's who killed Iragi's. It was a failing of Iraqi MOSLEM culture.

Yet again the Iraq issue is aired, as it was in several threads last year::cool:

    http://www.lpsg.org/1553261-post7.html

Obama was against the war because he shared the same perspective as G.H.Bush Sr.'s administration { eloquently explained by Dick Cheney ironically in the YouTube video in this post} , the Clinton administration and even G.W.Bush's administration initially.

The two choices for G.W. Bush were:

    1) Keep up the policy of containment (of Saddam) in concert with the international community which was working very well:

In 2001 U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell said that G.W.Bush's administration would keep the aforementioned policies in place as " Our policies have strengthened the security of the neighbors of Iraq."

    or
    2) Invade and destroy the secular country of Iraq
at great monetary and political cost.
A policy that hurt the Iraqi people and in fact damaged our prestige and good will with Muslims in the Middle-East.

Obama referred the words of Dick Cheney and made the same "great case":

Cheney '94: Invading Baghdad Would Create Quagmire C-SPAN

YouTube - Cheney '94: Invading Baghdad Would Create Quagmire C-SPAN

BTW that "liberation theology" rubbish, courtesy of the republican smear machine propaganda, was posted by rips rips in an etc. etc. thread last year. He also made the ridiculous Obama is the "anti-christ" claim.

I've long disliked Cheney and Rumsfeld - Nixon's Acolytes.

Typical, you wholly ignore the passage of 10 years. As if the passage of that time is irrelevant. Any thinking person would realize that continued embargo of Iraq was no longer going to be a viable option. The international community was going against sustaining the embargo.

The facts will play out and it seems Iraq will be a success while Afghanistan will be a failure. So Obama was wrong about the quagmire that would be Iraq and was wrong about the surge. Hopefully he will remain wrong for all our sakes. A successful Iraqi state is WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY, more important to us than a successful Afghanistan. The only thing that matters in Afghanistan is a dead Osama and al-Awahar,

Understanding liberation theology gives insight into Obama whether you appreciate that or not.
