Enjoy wasting your vote. What's wrong: Nader's not on your ballot?

This is the attitude that alarms me in America. You vote for the person that most matches your beliefs.

If everyone did that then perhaps there would be real change instead of letting the media and people who do not support your chosen candidate (Bbucko) tell you who is electable and steer elections.

The word "un-electable" should never come out of the media's mouth. And anyone who doesn't support your candidate who says that your choice is "wasting" your vote is obviously suspect in their motivation and agenda.

By listening to these people you run the risk of creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. If enough people buy the line they are fed then indeed, their candidate becomes un-electable. It's a sinister and devious device of manipulation.

Yes, it is a self-fulfilling prophecy. The tricky thing is, it is also a reality.

It's like the stock market, which is only as strong as everyone thinks it is. But my knowing this secret doesn't enable me to affect the course of the market in any appreciable way.

Similarly, you may know that all it takes for Ron Paul to become a viable candidate is for people to start looking at him as one.

But that doesn't mean it's going to happen.

I am not a supporter of a two party system or the Electoral College. But in 2000, if some people had faced reality and not voted for a candidate they knew had NO chance of ever winning, chances are the USA and the world would be in much better state right now.

If I lived in Ohio or Florida and had voted for Nader in 2000, I'd be deeply ashamed of myself. Everyone with half a brain in 2000 knew that frat boy was going to fuck up. Very few imagined just what a catastrophe it would turn out to be.

To paraphrase Pierre Trudeau, sometimes in politics you just have to hold your nose and do the right thing.

That is completely admirable, but quite divorced from reality.

The system is set up so that you inevitably vote for one person because the opponent is even worse. Scott Brown is an excellent example of this. All my friends and family told me that Coakley ran a terribly inept campaign, expecting a coronation. Instead, Ted Kennedy's seat turned Republican for the first time in my lifetime.

I know one thing... Dr. Paul wouldn't act like a fucking douche on a website like you have. He would at least have a sensible arguement and stand behind his beliefs others than just making witty little remarks for no reason other than bashing someone and their beliefs.

VB was banned in August, and so far chooses to not petition for reinstatement of his account.
