Ok, Paula Dean's Holiday Dessert magazine is out. It is pretty great. The food could stop your heart yesterday it is so rich...but love it all the same.

Many of her dishes are very rich. Well, look at all the butter and fat she cooks with! LOL My mom has one of her cookbooks and everything that I've made so far, has been a hit with my family and friends.

That woman cracks me up every time I see her make silly faces when she shoves something tasty in her mouth. I wonder if she's does the same exact thing with Michael in the bedroom? I wouldn't put nothing past that woman.

I love me some Paula Dean. The woman loves butter and loves to laugh. What's not to love?!

Truth be told I watch her show just to hear her laugh. She just exudes warmth and her food always looks good. The food does seem a bit rich for my tastes though. I have yet to try any of her recipes but if there are some good ones you have prepared why not post them here? She probably has some excellent cookie recipes.

Of the few TV programs I watch I really enjoy the Food Network which is beginning to replace CNN as the default channel in the household.

I have been to her restaurant, and being from SC, I eat food like that on a regular basis. One of my friends is good friends with her and he had her call me and so I've talked with her on the phone before. She's a hoot!

My friend who knows her has been invited to go down to her house for supper, so I've been invited to tag along. I can't wait!!!

I adore this woman with every fibber of my being.

Are you a big fibber Jeff?

I also love Ina Garten.

I just love her also. That woman is just so nice. Her show is only on the weekends though, so I don't see her much. I'd like to see her go head to head with Sandra Lee in Kitchen Stadium.

Tell us about your dinner with Paula Dean when you get the chance prep. I imagine in real life she is just like she is on TV.

I also adore Paula Deen. I watched her on Larry King just the other day and it's incredible that she's done so much after all she's had to overcome in life. She's truly a success story, and who doesn't love those?

Plus, I love those handsome sons of hers!

I HATE, HATE, HATE Sandra Lee. I have to turn the channel when she comes on. She annoys me with her phony cheeriness and all her cocktails. The woman is a big time drunk who couldn't cook anything for real if she tried.

The only dessert recipes I avoid (from Paula Dean) are the ones that use self-rising flour. It has a specific flavor that makes all recipes taste the same. She uses this on occassion. I bake tons and usually edge to a healthier fare...but just like her. I wish you could all share some baklava with me in Oct when I make trays of it for Halloween.

Her sons are handsome but I hear such negative things about them. Is one gay?

njqt466 is fixin' ta go to Barnes & Noble to get her a copy.

Then why aren't you fat? I look at her stuff on tv and gain weight. One of my friends is good friends with her and he had her call me and so I've talked with her on the phone before. She's a hoot! I bet!

Do tell, take notes and pics of the table.

] Mmm, those boys are yummy aren't they!

You love her because she's a big ol' alcoholic. I swear, she can put away some stuff. :)

LOL I love the two of them because they are normal people, they're like your favorite aunt or neighbor or mother. They are just cooking because they love it, not because they've gone to culinary school in France.

Miss Paula cooks like my Gramma. I love her, really. I watch her show faithful-like and have been to the restaurant as well. She went on tour & came to Charlotte recently - I went. Felt like a girl, but WTF cares. She's even funnier in person - she has a bit of a potty mouth. It's straight up Soul Food though for real...

LOL, I turn the channel too. She bothers me immensely. The only thing more moronic than her recipes is her decorating advice. She comes across as an overgrown gold digging polyanna cheerleader who’s only talent is the ability to cut corners to feed her man and step children. “I learned to entertain like my grandma taught me!” (Gag – was her grandma a whore too?) The only thing remotely interesting on her show are her two large breasts in tight sweaters. I think that is the sole reason she is still on the air.

Ina Garten is the total antithesis of her. That’s why it would be interesting to see a kitchen stadium match between the two. Ina would beat the pants off of Miss Boney Ass.

I'm unclear Earl...how do you REALLY feel about Sandra Lee? LOL LOL "Was her grandma a whore too?" You say that like it's a bad thing???

I love Paula Dean and The Barefoot Contessa. Ina Garten't house and garden are incredible.

Paula Dean has a pretty amazing life story. At one point she had agoraphobia, and after her divorce made money by making bag lunches and having her boys deliver them.

Love their cookbooks, and they both seem like genuine and very nice people.

Wow! That's very cool! My mom totally adores Paula Dean and she's always wanted to meet her.

In the magazine there is recipe for these gingerbread cheesecakes. How great it looks. I feel I have seen the Promised Land...and it is gingerbread cheesecake.
