The Logitech with all rave reviews but doesn't tell me the frequency response.

Looking here, SLB, we see:

Technical Specifications
    • Total RMS power: 25 W RMS
      Satellites: 10 W RMS (5 W x 2)
      Subwoofer: 15 W RMS
    • Total peak power: 50 W
    • Frequency response: 48 Hz - 20 kHz
    • Drivers:
      Satellites: 5.1 cm high-excursion driver
      Subwoofer: 10.2 cm ported driver
    • Speaker dimensions (H x W x D, cm):
      Satellites: 15.2 x 6.4 x 7.6
      Subwoofer: 21.6 x 15.2 x 22.9
Looks good to me.

Thanks Rubi! Obviously I did that myself but was just seeing if you got the same info

Guess I'll get the Logitech then, since they're slightly, technically better.

£55 is a bit much for me, I'd rather get the Logitech for £30ish (inc shipping).

I also don't like Amazon, they're a bit slow to deliver items and I had to wait two months to get a refund once.

Thanks though peeps. I'll let you know what the Logitech speakers are like

Hello SLB! Long time no talkee.

I got sick of having stupid little speakers to dust, so I plug my computer into a stereo. (I specifically bought a stereo for this purpose)

I also bought an extra long connecting cord.

It's great not having stupid little speakers anymore!

The time has come...for me to buy new speakers. The current ones came with the PC last year, are powered by the PC, small and have no headphone socket.

I want a headphone socket.

I also want a decent sound, but there are so many speakers! So many specifications, subwoofers, 5.1, FDD, two speakers, three speakers, six speakers!

Here are some that I've looked at, in 'rated' order:
The Monsoon are out of production and so are a couple of the other ones. The Logitech X-5xx look good but is £70/$140 for some PC speakers worth it? I have other things on my wishlist too (500GB Seagate eSATA HD, bicycle, a new desk, digital TV, HD monitor etc) but I don't want some shitty tinny speakers.

Any recommendations/comments on the price and quality of speakers. What RMS should I be looking for, any key features etc?

Ta

You should get some good monitor speakers and a power amp. Like the ones used in recording studios, nightclubs and small bars. This is what I have hooked up to my Windows XP PC. You should make sure you have a great soundcard as well. I don't have the best one but I bypassed it via a Creative Sound Blaster External Soundcard. I am truly happy as the previous soundcard has a hissing sound like tape hiss. I hated that.
