With all the time and effort you spend, educating yourself and practicing on the subject of PE, do any of you consider it a hobby? I mean, I know its not something you could put on an application under "hobbies and other interests", but does PE classify as one?

Just wondering what you all think.

I guess it could be if you're not after serious gains or are just looking to improve performance a bit.

No, I mean really taking it seriously, not a pastime, once in a while thing.

Some hobbies require a lot of time and dedication. I think PE require serious time. In fact, when I started, I cut back some time on other activites hobbies I enjoy.

I guess that would depend on how you define "hobby". To some people, a hobby is a pleasureable, optional activity. I've had some intense workouts that could hardly be called pleasureable, and when I set my goals the idea of "optional" went out the window.
