When was the last time you walked more than 2 blocks?

I have a car and the farthest I walk is however far away I find parking. Seldom more than a blocks distance.
I have walked over two blocks recently but that was inside of a casino.

Just about every day- only exception is I'm stuck inside waiting on something. It's 5 blocks to the nearest full size grocery(which in this city means barely a hole in the wall). The bank is 10 blocks, the subway station I use most often is 8 blocks, Washington Square Park is about 12 blocks, the court houses are over a mile-each way. Two measely blocks is nothing.

Today but in general I don't walk nearly enough. Maybe 1km to the tube, bit less than 1km at the other end 2 or three days a week (x2, naturally) a stroll for lunch etc maybe 1km. The others depend on business, sometimes driving but more often not so maybe 4-5km per day on average. I guess that equates to about 20 blocks per working day (assuming 1 block=1/8th mile).

I just walked 3km round trip to the supermarket this evening, unusual for me on the weekend.

Someone earlier said 26 blocks =10 miles??? I thought a 'typical' block was 1/8 mile. 26 Blocks=about 3 miles. I suppose it varies but at 3/8 miles per block they're big blocks!!

If I can walk, I do. If I just need to go to the grocery store to pick up a couple of items, I walk. If it's under a couple of miles to get somewhere, I walk. I used to enjoy driving, but in this area, I hate it.

Hmm - we don't do 'blocks' in this part of the world - if I'm actually doing anything driving is the only sane option - but I suppose, averaging out the week, I walk about 4 to 5 k per day, but it is all recreational walking.

No idea what distance two blocks is but I walk all the time, it's the only exercise I do but I don't class it as exercise as it's usually from Debenhams to Argos :)

A block is from 6th Ave to 7th Ave in Manhattan. Also a shorter block is from 49th St. to 50th St.

Where I grew up the long part of the block had about 20 houses on it and the short part was from the front of one house, to the house behind it on the opposite side including the back yards.
