It looks like good old Nancy Pelosi is going to buck the committee that came up with the healthcare bill and inject it with a far more liberal agenda, effectively alienating the Repubs further as well as more moderate members of her own party.

I suspect this is just adding more TNT to the Democrat Self Destruct Sequence.

It seems she is doing everything in her power to make sure nothing passes.

Oh, no! No Republicans will vote for the bill? How will we ever get by?

Yeah, the Republicans of this country (by and large) are just the ones who have to pay for it.

BTW, I don't see ANYTHING resembling a democratic consensus on this bill. Last I read, the dems in the House are still divided.

It's about time the dems grew a pair. So far, republicans (and cons) have insisted on "contributing" to the bill by gutting the public option, by taking it completely off the table, by proposing an amendment to eliminate the individual insurance requirement, by proposing an amendment to eliminate various fees on healthcare industries. Republicans have beem allowed to weaken all major healthcare bills in committee --repubs and cons have offered up 292 amendments... and every single one of these fuckers (except perhaps Olympia Snowe) have vowed to VOTE AGAINST THE VERY BILL that they continue to be allowed to help weaken.

This is like a weird episode of "Twilight Zone". Conservatives HATE governmental intervention. They hate medicare, they hate the social security program (remember that privatized Wall Street stock scheme they tried to foist on everyone a couple years back?), they hate the freaking POSTAL SERVICE... they hate public schools. Etc. They despise the UK's and all european nationalized healthcare systems. WHY do we allow them to gut every major proposal -- thus ensuring failure? The time for bipartisanship is over. That bird has flown.

See, but we live in a democracy, and those Republicans represent a fair percentage of the population. So, they are doing their jobs by representing their constituents. They would be out of office if they didn't represent their people. We entrust our Congress-people to represent those who elected them, not to just "roll over" and do whatever the President tells them he wants if it is in contradiction to what the electors want.

A recent study by SurveyUSA puts support for a public option at 77%.

73% of doctors support a public option: Poll Finds Most Doctors Support Public Option : NPR

New York Times/CBS Poll: -- "72 percent of those questioned supported a government-administered insurance plan — something like Medicare for those under 65 — that would compete for customers with private insurers."

    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/21/health/policy/21poll.html?_r=1

Even a Quinnipiac poll, a conservative outfit, in a poll which says that americans fear congress will spend too much money overhauling healthcare, and disapprove of Obama's handling of healthcare, we find this stat: "62 percent are in favor of giving people the option of a government insurance plan". The exact question asked was: “Do you support or oppose giving people the option of being covered by a government health insurance plan that would compete with private plans?” -- and 62% supported a government option.

National (US) Poll * August 5, 2009 * Scrap Health Care Reform If It - Quinnipiac University – Hamden, Connecticut

I even found a poll where a majority of KENTUCKIANS support (by a slim margin) a public option.

So, what about those congresspersons "representing their constituents"?

Who the fuck CARES about alienating the republicans at this point?
They have NO FUCKING IDEA on a useful solution, they simply gainsay whatever Obama supports, and they are all total sellouts to Insurance lobbies... my own republican representative has decided to totally ignore that 76% of his constituents DEMAND a public option, and he's gonna vote against ANY healthcare bill that doesn't hand the Insurance industry the legal right to fuck the American people in the ass.

The assholes in the RNC demand conceeasions, are GIVEN concessions, and THEN publicly state they will not vote for the bill...

They have established themselves not only as the stupid screwups who fucked up the economy and the Power and influence of the US on the world stage...
They are now proving they are hell bent on PREVENTING anything that might undo the damage they have done.

Ask a republican to help you with a flat tire, and the stupid shit will let the air out of your other three tires and call that being helpful.

And then you find out that the jerk happens to own half interest in a tow truck company...

The modern conservative is heartless, greedy, self centered, stupid, and racist. They have NO moral compass, and will spout whatever position pays the best. They are whores to the monied interests in this nation and have no sense of responsibility to govern fairly.

The only good news is that as this becomes more obviously the entire Platform of the RNC... they are increasingly becoming a minority.

At this point, no thinking human being can support the belief that the Republicans are doing anything other than the bidding of the healthcare lobbiests.

At this point any thinking human being can see that the Republicans only agenda is obstructionism for the sake of obstructionism.

At this point, what the Republicans CLAIM they want is not only a lie...
    its not only dangerously stupid...

    It actually immaterial.

    Fuck em all.

CBO Estimates Show Public Plan With Higher Savings Rate

    Friday, Sept. 25, 2009

In a bid to wrangle concessions from the Blue Dog Coalition on healthcare reform, House leaders Thursday released CBO estimates for liberals' preferred version of the public option that show $85 billion more in savings than for the version the Blue Dogs prefer.

CongressDaily - CBO Estimates Show Public Plan With Higher Savings Rate

SO the PUBLIC option SAVES money...

Per Pelosi's office, she's not working on her own bill. I should think she would know.

It looks like Skippy's jumped the gun once again.

The only solution is the public solution. The current Republican agenda. "Block everything the Dems try to do, and then blame the Dems when in fact nothing gets done."

People in this country have become a ton of cattle being led to the slaughterhouse by the "Republican Ajenda". This is an ajenda that in truth benefits only the top 5% of the incomes out there. In the end the middle class and poor end up paying for the very rich.

The Republicans have lost sight of the Country and it's people. They are currently working for the lobbiests of "big business" and do not even begin to represent their own constituancies.

I am too kind to Echo Phil Ayesho's statements. He said it all. Anyone believing what they are hearing with regards to the old "tax and spend" lines now are a bunch of fools.

It's Pathetic, If the American People wake up and smell the roses that their representatives are not representing them and really begin to see the truth the mid-term elections are going to get really interesting. We got Obama and Biden over the acts of George W. Bush. We had a heavy gain in Democratic representation at that time as well.

Rememer the following words well: "Of the Corporation, by the Corporation and for the Corporation." Forget the people and promise them anything, but the real idea is to make more money for big business.

    Observe and think.....

A government-run public option is NOT the only solution. To be a solution, it has to solve problems not create more than it solves. 80% of Americans are satisfied with their healthcare and don't want higher taxes, rationing of care, long waits or higher deficits.

Please the Democrats are messing things up themselves. They have never had the majorities they now have along with the White House. The Democrats gave up the Republicans for dead about three months ago. Obama's ratings were through the roof. It isn't Republican power, misinformation or lies. It's the fact that Democrats and Obama don't have the change we can believe in! Obama is more popular than his policies! (oh but his popularity is falling) It's simply that the opposition is actually telling the truth on Democrats and Obama!

And that isn't changing with Obama. There is still a jobs crisis in this nation. As long as there is a jobs crisis, the middle class and poor are hurting while Obama fancies about. Obama and the Democrats keep deficit spending without money to pay for their bungling mess. Cap and Tax will hurt the middle class. Obama knows full well he is cutting benefits for seniors, and taxing the middle class through back door taxes passed on due to their policies.

What a joke. Obama's administration is full of waivers for his lobbyists. And there are more Democrats under investigation for wrong doing and not representing the interest of their constituancies.

The Democrats have lost sight of their principles and the people.

All they eyes of the world are on the US right now. With Obama, a sign of hope, that a country that dominates the world as a capitalist, might just get a social conscience.

    Please dont disappoint us...
