The attached link shows the amount of air travel expenses Nancy Pelosi has racked up through the Air Force - over $2 million in 2 years; including over $101,000 for alcohol/food. This includes personal flights for Pelosi and Pelosi-led trips to Mississippi and Louisiana (to observe hurricane-rebuilding efforts in 2008) among others.

Pelosi Party Planes? | Judicial Watch

Numbers were obtained through the Freedom of Information Act - over 2,000 pages of documents are available on the link.

On average, Pelosi spends $83K per month in taxpayer funds just with the Air Force.

Red Carpet treatment at taxpayer expense through the worst recession in 80 years.

I think you're just jealous of her.

She's probably pretty nice you know. Call her up and see if she wants to go fishing.

"U.S. taxpayers are spending more than $40,000 per month on office space, staff, cell phones and a leased SUV for former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, even as he works as a lobbyist for private corporations and foreign governments."

At least Pelosi is doing government business. This ex-Speaker is now a register foreign agent and still billing the Treasury half a million a year for his perks.

Hey there, Starpooper, if you're short on cash I suggest you call up the former Speaker of the House, good old boy Dennis Hastert, and ask him if he'll loan you a sawbuck.

Did you actually take a look at the PDFs? Did you happen to notice that a lot of those expenses are typical for someone who travels? Did you also notice that more people were listed in these receipts than just Nancy Pelosi?

I'm sure the writer of the story didn't...
And we definitely know starimposter, in his usual dishonest ways, didn't...

So here is the link to all of the receipts. Nancy Pelosi--Air Force Documents | Judicial Watch

Nothing to see here. Just more disingenuous bullshit, with "taxpayer money" as the trigger. I await the usual pseudo-moralistic psycho banter about wasteful spending. I guess in starimposter's world, Pelosi was supposed to bring a bagged lunch to work everyday?

    Yes I did.

    No they are not.

Yes - and also acknowledged that in the OP. She has several family members that accompany her on her party plane as well as - when she spearheads group travel - she, of course, invites their family members to live it up on the taxpayer dime.

How is this disingenuous? Seriously - $83 THOUSAND per month for 2 years. Are you kidding me?

Nevermind VB - obviously you don't understand the concept of frugality in travel. There is no reason Pelosi and family need Surf & Turf en route to Mississippi to 'review the progress being made after the hurricane.'

I really, really hope that someday you have to cover somebody's travel expenses out of your own pocket, and that individual travels just like Nancy Pelosi. And when you question them, they say, "What, should I have bagged lunch?"

    Bullshit.
Link one, page nine, lists people that accompanied Nancy Pelosi on a trip to Italy & Afghanistan from February 13-22nd last year. Twenty-three in total. It would make sense that if they had business related expenses for this trip that it would also be covered. On the same link on page 47 is another trip taken in 2007. 18 other people besides Nancy Pelosi were accounted for on that trip as well. Their business expenses would also be covered. So really... is this all Nancy Pelosi? Did she make up 37 extra people for these two trips just so she could lavishly spend "taxpayer money" to no end?

Thank you for proving that you actually DIDN'T go through the receipts as you earlier claimed.

    Not always...
Again, link one on page 47. Not a single family member of Nancy Pelosi can be found on that list. Thank you for proving AGAIN that you didn't read the receipts. Your blatant disingenuousness is showing.

Break down every single expense and see where the money went, star. One of the expenses was for newspapers.

I'm sure I've done much more traveling than you have. Believe me when I say you don't know what the hell you're talking about in this regard.

So, now you want to be their chef as well? Were they supposed to only live on cold cuts and PBJ throughout the entire trip?

I run a record label that has close to 100 independent contractors, stupid. During music conferences where my label attends and people work or represent me, I have covered other people's expenses. There's nothing unusual about any of the receipts I seen on the first link. And I'm sure if I continued to go through them, I'd see more typical expenses a large group of people would incur during international trips.

Such a shame the closest you've ever been to a foreign country is the Travel Channel.

I travel with family and friends sometimes. Maybe if you had a friend you'd understand what that is like?

    No, stupid...
One of your comments of fake outrage was in regard to a two year food bill that totaled more than $100,000. When you're taking multiple trips with large groups of people, all of whom must eat something, the total makes absolute sense. Then again, we are talking to you... a dimwit who is pissed off that Pelosi and friends decided to have a seafood platter instead of going out into the tundra and hunt down their food like "real Americans".

Seriously, your rabid hate for Pelosi is not healthy. Seek medical attention.

Page 11. 10 day trip to Italy - cost: $207,000. Why is the taxpayer paying for spouses to go to Italy and eat, drink and be merry?

Haha - there are thousands of pages of notes you douchebag.

Are you that ignorant to believe that IN FLIGHT meals should exceed 100k? You can't get a burger in the airport? You can't eat/drink when you land? Why is it that when any passenger in the United States that isn't flying business class has to do with pretzels or peanuts?

    Nobody is that fucking stupid.

    ROTFLMAO. Haha. Jezuz.

No - you are correct here. Pelosi and her friends/relatives should get the finest filet mignon and Alaskan crab. Also Dom Perignon.

I'm sure these 'independent contractors' in the music business are staying in 5-star hotels, huh?

Nice try again. Been to every continent save Antarctica.

I'm in a different city 6x/mth you dolt.

Did you read the entire itinerary, numbnuts?
They used Italy as their place of reference for their business in Afghanistan. Considering the circumstances, I don't think anyone would really find fault with that.

Funny it only took TWO of them to expose your usual BULLSHIT.
    Nice try, dickhead.

Are you that ignorant to not notice that $100K wasn't only spent on airline food? Or did the receipts listing a food purchase from COSTCO and SAM'S CLUB not give you any clue? Page 13 & 14.

Now you're just desperate for a reason to bitch. LOL!!!

    You are.

Glad to know that you can laugh at yourself. We've been laughing at you for more than a year now.

Putting words in my mouth again? Fuck you.
When I can look through receipts and see purchases made at Sam's Club, Costco, Barnes & Nobles and various other airline shops for things like water, magazines and newspapers, that usually tells me that not every dime spent was done in sheer luxury at taxpayer expense. You're overreacting... plain and simple. Stop with the phony outrage.

A few have. Most times we get arrangements through friends to get private homes for a week or so, or good hotel accommodations for less. It's all in who you know in the industry. So sorry you have no friends who can help you get a good rate at a decent hotel when you travel.

The Travel Channel and National Geographic don't count, dear.

That just proves that you probably travel a lot in your own state.

YAWN... you fell for the campaign slogan too?

We can sit here and have a disingenuous discussion, like a bunch of greedy sons of bitches, about travel expenses and be like the OP who seems to think it's excessive for people to eat seafood instead of a burger and fries... OR, we can come to the realization that nobody here, including yourself, have any concept of how expensive it is to conduct government trips like this. Again, I see nothing within these receipts that jump off the page as being unusual. I know entertainers who incur more travel expenses per year. Wake me when Pelosi is making more than 60 trips a year to various places across the globe, with family and entourage always by her side, demanding at least $100,000 a pop to actually do the work assigned to her. THEN we can talk.

I expect money to be spent when our government takes care of international matters. If our government officials decide not to rough it and spend a little extra to make sure everyone isn't eating out of a cardboard box, then so be it. It's not as if you or I are over there trying to settle things in Afghanistan. I think that deserves a little "surf & turf" as our dumbfounded OP referred to it earlier. It's also apparent that excursions to expensive restaurants weren't made daily either.

Don't be like the OP and mistake partisan bigotry and rabid disdain for a politician based on sectarian ideology, as concern for our country. Once you get past the distorted headline and pay attention to the specifics, anyone can see this is just more of starimpooper's pseudo-moralistic bullshit.

I think the whole point here is that she doesn't need a 757. They used to fly her around in a Gulfstream which is a large beautiful jet but she wanted more while at the same time criticizing the automakers for flying private jets to Washington. I just don't like to see such waste when it's not needed especially since we're in a huge financial hole that is getting bigger.

If you don't want her spending so much of your money on Government business, become a socialist society with spending caps on government bodies. In a democratic/capitalistic society the ones on top spend all the money. Deal.

By and by 50 pages of it shows clearly that she wasn't going out to eat on taxpayer dollars at the best of restaurants. We could bring up the Bush admin but thats pointless, this admin has to be 100% perfect.

You've gotta be fucking kidding.

Do you actually believe the CASM for a USAF 757 is more than for a Gulfstream V?
