It's obvious that the wingnuts HATE seeing a WOMAN do the job 3x better than any of their washed up corrupticons have managed to do in decades. Being House Speaker is about producing results and putting pressure on the always useless Senate... And Pelosi has done that again and again and again since taking the reigns.
Frankly, I pretty much hate her myself, but dammit, you have to respect her ability to run the House.

Let's be clear with the epithets, Bush could not even form one. He followed in the grand Repub malapropism tradition of Dan Qualyle, Ronald Reagan, and the original politician cum slapstick vaudevillian Gerald Ford.
You may not like Pelosi, but she is better spoken than all the above.
The embarrassment, and pain we suffer is more due to the 8 years or total regulatory blindness under Bush, and almost 30 years of deregulation of essential industries, like deep water oil rigs, and banking under Republican Presidents, and Congresses. During that time the Dems have only controlled the Presidency, and Congress for 6-8 years.
The Republicans may talk like they are minding the company store, but when it comes to pimping themselves to corporate greed, they are as bad, or worse than the Dems. Think Phil Gramm, and his Commodity Reform Act: Credit Default Swaps for everyone! Who would not want one?

Duc, the Dems controlled Congress for the last 4 years of the Bush admin.
Credit default swaps wouldn't even be invented had it not been for the 'loans to those that have no way of paying them back' instituted in the Community Reinvestment Act - first by Carter, and then injected by steroids from the Clinton Administration.

He's had almost a year and a half in office now to throw out the cronies and corrupt bureaucrats who served under Bush. The fact of the matter is that he's left a lot of Bush's executive machine in place...and of the ones he has replaced, many appointments were to high-profile corporate shills (e.g. filling several upper-echelon Justice Dept. positions with recording industry executives).
Yes, it was the Bush/Cheney regime that birthed this disaster, but Obama gets a black eye as well for not effectively cleaning house.
