Hey guys, my girlfriend has been to a specialist after waiting 9 months to get into one and figure out what is wrong, as sex is almost impossible, and literally impossible painlessly. I was there in the room for some of the consultation, but felt a little awkward staying around for the actual exam and poking around. It was found that due to her hip problem, she has very tense PC muscles, and it causes a lot of pain because she involuntarily tenses up at times. Even digital penetration really hurts her, and the doctor said we need to stretch out her muscles down there and slowly just get her to the point a penis wouldn't be too painful. Unfortunately my girlfriend is a bit of an airhead and never bothered to ask how often, and for how long and that sort of stuff when told to do these exercises, I assume 10 minutes 2 times a day, but am unsure. I was wondering if any other women have been through this sort of thing and what they did and how they did it. Did you have to tense up while being stretched, or just relax while applying the pressure on your pelvic floor? She likes me to help sometimes because my fingers are bigger, but i was just wondering if anyone had any kind of advice on how to do this properly. thanks alot in advance

She should probably call the doctor to ask again. And next time, stay for the whole exam.

While I was pregnant I had a great book that talked about "opening" this area up and offered exercises that remind me of what you are talking about. I gave the book away years ago and don't remember the title. I do remember that it was about contracting, then relaxing, contracting, relaxing, rinse and repeat. ;) Kind of the way you would stretch out a tight muscle in your leg or another part of your body. And my ex used mineral oil to massage & apply pressure during the relaxing part. Warming up the area to get blood flowing there helped, too.

    Hope that helps.

I think while she is off at school tomorrow, I may call and ask a few questions. Do you think that would anger my girlfriend at all?

Asked my wife, and she gave me the same answer as what I was taught for me (yes, men should do PC exercises too: for stronger erections and bigger orgasms).

PC exercises are best when done 'long', that is squeeze really hard for about 10 seconds, relax for 10 seconds, squeeze for 10 seconds. I think it's 10 - 10 - 10, squeeze and relax cycles times ten, a few times a day. Short squeezes, say squeezes of a couple of seconds each, actually weaken the pc muscles. If she hasn't been doing them at all, she will find the cycle of 10 almost exhausting at first, but as her muscles develop it gets much easier.

Vaginal exercises with cones. However, she might need chiropractic care or physical therapy to address the CAUSE of the situation, which is (according to your post) a hip problem.

Show some fucking respect - you dick.

I have no idea why you are posting this though - because it just does not ring true. Had a doctor suggested exercises for this problem then she / he would have been very explicit about an exercise routine. I cannot believe a doc would just say "Oh, you know, just do some kegeling and stretching - Bye then!" Balls!

If indeed you do have a girlfriend who does have this problem and has been to a doctor then perhaps she doesn't want to share the information with you. Perhaps she doesn't want you fucking hassling her or trying to 'help' her by nagging her to exercise or by trying to stick anything up her.

You want to call the doc behind her back so you can nag her - I don't believe the doc will talk to you, not should she / he. Why do you even want her not to know? Why wouldn't you say, '"Hey babe, we have no idea how often you should exercise - why don't you call the office and ask?" - There is no reason you wouldn't. I can only conclude she knows and isn't telling you and probably has a good reason for that. Leave it.

Any knowledgeable, licensed physical therapist should be familiar with pelvic floor therapy and can help your girlfriend out. Her doctor actually should have written her a prescription to visit with a PT.

I would highly recommend you find one who is also practiced in myofascial release techniques.

You're spot-on...federal medical privacy laws in the USA forbid practitioners from discussing any patient information with someone other than the patient unless they have written authorization to do otherwise.

Alright, well she just said the doctor was gunna give her a perscription for the cones, but she didnt want to do that because going and getting them is "embarassing" so shes just using fingers, and likes me to help and tells me to remind her, so no manly you useless fuck, shes not hiding it from me. Her doctor told her what to do and how to do it, but never specified how often or for how long, because the perscription cones tell you what to do, but she never got them. I'll ask her later when she gets back that maybe she should call the doctor for more details so it actually works. To everyone else but the douchebag, Manly, thanks for your help, and i realize i wouldnt be able to talk to her doctor a few hours after that post. Either way i think its going slightly right because she says it hurts less then before with just one finger. Its a long process either way, but thanks for your information.
