I was having sex with my new female friend last night when in the heat of the moment, "I told her to suck my dick" to which she replied, "This is NOT a dick, THIS is a COCK!". She then went on to tell me the "monikers" each mean something different. According to her, a penis is small, a dick is medium and a cock is large. I have NEVER in my life heard this and been in the swinging and orally bi lifestyle for a good many years. Did I just miss this along the way? Anyone else ever heard of such?

She doesn't know what she's talking about.

In my mind, the words SOUND that way to me. I hate the word "penis" because you couldn't design a more small-sounding word for a big organ than that. lol. "Dick" is all-purpose, but "cock" is something to be proud of. But that's just in my brain.....they're all truly interchangeable. She's a bit daft!

I've never liked the word penis either. Dick and cock are powerful words in my opinion.

An observation that we may wish to consider:idea:
Definitions/understanding of words change over the years. As a member of the "Boomer Generation" we referred to our cocks utilizing many other synonyms. Heck, referencing a penis could have been considered "pornographic". It was very derogatory to call someone a cock sucker, so "cock" was profanity. A "dick sucker" was much more eloquent:neutral:.

My mother called my penis a "tail". Friends told me their cocks were pee-pees. Consider those insinuated size differences.

May I suggest @Sirramm accept the complimentary reference to his penis size. His female friend may have had another "message" she was attempting to communicate. She might not have been "a bit daft". Did she want her pussy licked? Would she have preferred a deep vaginal penetration? Was her precious treasure supposed to receive a special nickname?

VERY GOOD POINTS!!! And I did take it as a compliment...for her to "rank" me in the highest "level" was an ego booster, to say the least (and honestly I needed it! Long story...). To continue Sherwood's comments, there was a time when seeing a woman's ankles was considered taboo and "slutty". To take it even further down the rabbit hole in today's culture consider that using certain phrases and words can start a war. But anywho...words have different meanings and they change over time. Nevertheless, I take it as a compliment...but it is curious how people interpret this subject/words.

I imagine OP won't totally get this because he's straight but I really only say "cock" when I'm horny/during sex. That's really the only thing to me that is "different". :joy:

That's funny!!! Although I am actually "orally bi", meaning that I like to suck a dick but only with the presence of a woman and especially like to eat cum...but to date, we don't have a name/word for people like me! LOL LOL LOL

Jake, 22, of Maryland notes that “‘dick’ feels extremely jokey, [but] outside of intercourse, ‘cock’ is way too vulgar.” Taylor, in his mid-20s, adds that “dick is used too often in a nonsexual context, not to mention that it doubles as a synonym for a bad person.” Phil, 36 and a native Brit, agrees: “[Dick] sounds diminutive, belittling. It almost sounds like a joke."

A fantastic link for more commentary:cool:

As we can tell .... We all have our own thoughts on the meanings. Here are my:
1. Penis is used by Doctors and Educators. Those in a profession where sex is not taking place.
2. Dick, my preferred word. It's seems to be a good word to describe all the different types and sizes out there. It's powerful word perfect to use in any sexual situation. "Suck my Dick" ... "Oh, your dick feel so good" ... "Fuck me with your dick" ...etc.
3.Cock ... I view that as a word that was used only in the porn industry. Which transitioned to everyday people.

I believe it is a generational issue too, depending on your age ..!!

Don't take this the wrong way, but I've only ever seen 1 of my friends refer to his as a BBC (COCK) on Pornhub, which IT IS BIG (length). I was gonna say that DICK vs. COCK is a black guy vs. other race thing, but when I thought about it, I've only really heard COCK used in PORN. IRL most guys (people period) that I've heard use the D-word regardless of their melanin content.

Penis is for when I go to the urologist or when I'm in couples therapy (e.g. "I really like it when my partner compliments my penis").

Dick is when I need a general euphemism for penis or I'm trying not to be too sexual (e.g., "I hate the way these trousers keep constricting my dick").

Cock is the sexy word for penis. The hard consonants crashing together just sound hotter. "Show me/fuck me with your cock!" sounds a lot more explicitly sexual than "Show me your dick."

Never heard this in my life, if a lad told me to suck his dick, cock or anything I’d know where I was going. There isn’t a name for a different size of a cock
