Hello,

I know a lot of guys on this forum dont need any type of penis enlargement surgery. You guys are already large enough, but I was wondering how effective and safe is actual penis enlargement surgery? Are there certain techniques that are better than others? Is there a difference if someone is looking to get thicker as opposed to longer? I'm just curious. Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In general it is much more risky to enlarge penis girth than penis length. The problem is that length gains are minimal. Some say it is not even worth having surgery because the same gains can be had from hanging weights from your penis over time.

I copied over the text at the bottom of this post from another post of mine in this forum (I hope that's kosher, if not I'll remove it) because it answers several of your questions. On top of that, though, I would like to answer your other questions.

Are there certain techniques that are better than others?
Not really. Surgical enhancements of the penis, at least to the extent of my knowledge, really only follow one specific surgery for length and girth, respectively.

Is there a difference if someone is looking to get thicker as opposed to longer?
Yes, there is. The two surgeries involve completely separate procedures. Adding length involves cutting a ligament that anchors the penis to the pelvis and either bridging it with some sort of implanted material or simply letting it heal over naturally at its "enhanced" length. A longer suspensory ligament allows more of the internal parts of the penis to hang outside the body, thus making the penis look larger. Surgery to increase girth involves injecting some sort of "filler" around the penis. The surgery to increase girth is generally perceived as more risky, as there are several problems that can arise long after the surgery is complete. For example, a common filler is fat taken from some other place on the body. This tends to work well and create a fairly good-looking result immediately after, but the results are not permanent, as the body will eventually begin to remove the excess fat placed around the penis. The process is not uniform, meaning that the fat can be removed in some areas around the penis but not others, resulting in a lumpy, misshapen penis. And with other fillers that will stick around forever (more or less) have their own risks associated with them. From my (again, fairly limited!) knowledge, a common artificial filler is the same kind of medical silicone used in breast enlargement surgeries. This can't really be removed by the body, but it can lead to loss of sensation and erectile dysfunction.

At the end of the day, I'm not directly against penis enhancement surgery, but I do encourage people considering it to weigh the risks against the benefits and make an informed decision whether or not to go forward with it. I wish you a good day and a pleasant tomorrow!

My thoughts on this can be summed up with "I wouldn't recommend it". Though I haven't seen your stats, it's obvious that the size of your penis is a sensitive topic to you, but what you have to realize is that surgery -- any surgery -- carries risks. I admit, I'm nowhere near an expert when it comes to the field of medicine, but it's an area I know a thing or two about, at least, so believe me when I say you shouldn't make this decision lightly.

From what I understand, the surgery involves the cutting of the suspensory ligament of the penis. The ligament is then either extended and reconnected with an artificial bridge or is simply allowed to heal. Both methods result in a longer penis, but remember that the penis isn't just a ligament. It's also blood vessels, nerves, skin, and so forth. You can't be sure how much you'll actually gain until you undergo the surgery, and if it ends up that, say, your nerves or certain vessels don't go as far as you hoped they would, you end up with a very slightly longer penis and a pretty sizable medical bill.

Apart from that, you also must remember that surgery in general can be pretty risky. Surgery opens up the body to a whole slew of problems, including incomplete vascular regeneration, odd nerve growth, nerve disconnection, scar tissue buildup, infection... The list goes on for much longer than that, and I assure you that no item on said list is all that pleasant.

At the end of the day, the decision is still up to you. If the length of your penis bothers you enough that you're even considering elective surgery for it implies that it's pretty important to you. Personally, I would recommend speaking with someone about it - I've heard tales of sex therapists that have truly helped people overcome their sexual insecurities. Even if you do end up going through with it, then you can make the decision knowing exactly what you're getting into.

I wish you nothing but the best!

PE Surgery is in essence like going to a roulette wheel with the bet being the future of your penis. The gamble pay off would be a procedure that worked. There are successful PE surgeries. The problem is that there is no simple way to predict who will have a good or bad result from these procedure. The truth is that even the MD's cannot tell in advance. The next problem is that there are a percentage of these procedures that start out good and then begin to deteriorate over time for various different reasons.

For some years I ran an internet forum in the form of a Yahoo group for those seeking information and those seeking help when the procedures went wrong. It was basically an information clearing house.

The surgery itself has some problems but the biggest problem is that the entire "industry" has grown to be such a cash cow that corruption is the name of the game.
Some of the less than honest remaining Surgeons doing this have commissioned salesmen unofficially pulling in patients so that the patient can have the privilege of having their penis destroyed or badly injured. These people go to all the "in-groups" and one person may have ten different screen names or "I.D.'s". These individuals will rave on and on about the doctor they are pushing for and condemn every other MD has a quack, a hack, and incompetent. I found the forum I had polluted with these individuals. They pose as patients greatly thrilled and as patients badly injured.

I finally began a "shut down" of that group about two years ago. It became a quagmire of "special interests" deriving profit from the procedures and victims injured badly and screaming bloody murder. It became so bad that one could not tell the fraud from the legitimate victims. It had also become a mess so bad that there were complaints and major ones against virtually every Surgeon and raves about that same Surgeon. What a mess!

When these go right, and there are a percentage that do, they are fine. When they go wrong, there is no disaster quite like them. Many relationships have been destroyed by men trying to do something FOR their significant other. Not only are there physical effects and financial pressures, there are psychological ramifications far more reaching, damaging and long lasting.

There was a fellow who was very wealthy from the non performance end of the Country Music Biz in Nashville, TN. This man had tons of money, stood about 5'6" tall and weighted about 265 pounds. He had a mansion and an expensive car, and based on other factors he had a penis that had very little usable length. He went to a Surgeon in the Southeastern US and paid about $10,000 with promises that he would have a very substantial gain. What he had was a substantial disaster, he suffered extreme retraction to the point that hygiene problems developed as well. This began an odyssey from PE Surgeon to PE surgeon all who claimed they could "fix" or "repair" his problem. Each one of these Surgeons collected thousands more from the man already a victim of a surgery that for reasons unknown did not go well. By the time it reached Southern California, the fellow had already spent thousands more trying to get back what he had.

It took two MD's in Southern California who finally were able to help him. It was in fact multiple procedures involving a great deal more than just PE surgery because of the complications caused by the man's weight. The bottom line of this was that he spent $10,000 on an enlargement procedure and over $50,000 more to try and get back what he had before anything had been done. It was really sad. . . . .

My thoughts. . . .Try everything else first and give everything else long enough to have it be an honest try.

There are some things on the horizon that are showing some results and there is always a potential for new techniques that will work.

Forget the fellows practicing in the middle east and other locations where you have no legal rights. Forget Scaffolding, very invasive and potential for infection is incredible.

I remained involved with several MD's working on this until they decided that the time was wrong and abandoned more research because the climate had grown that bad especially by regulatory agencies and by malpractice insurance carriers.

Though I’m not sure I would have surgery done on my penis, cutting it about, I think I might consider enhancement if it were cheaper. I saw the topic being discussed on UK TV and here is the link.

Querty, my last posting on this subject in this particular thread was some time ago. I honestly wish that I was able to report that something had changed or that some new great technique had been discovered. Sadly, what you have is still a major quagmire. The worst part is as I have said before the "ticking time bomb" aspect where these go wrong years after the procedure was performed. Pretinho is telling you the absolute truth. This is a gamble that is absolutely not worth it.
