WOW! I'm not even going to say what one of my undergraduate degrees is in that should be an embarrassment for me not knowing this.

Penis Museum in Iceland?

Did you know that there’s a penis museum?

The Icelandic Phallological Museum might just be a bucket list traveling point for some of us on this blog.

The museum’s located at the top of the Laugavegur shopping street in Reykjavik, Iceland. In it, you can see a bunch of penis specimens from all types of mammal species found in the country.

But why do they collect all of the penis samples? Science.

Specifically, the science is called Pallology. Phallology is a study of penises, obviously, and it merges the studies of history, biology, and even art.

As Iceland Monitor reports:

“The Icelandic Phallological Museum contains a collection of more than two hundred penises and penile parts belonging to almost all the land and sea mammals that can be found in Iceland. Visitors to the museum will encounter fifty-five specimens belonging to sixteen different kinds of whale, one specimen taken from a rogue polar bear, thirty-six specimens belonging to seven different kinds of seal and walrus, and more than one hundred fifteen specimens originating from twenty different kinds of land mammal: all in all, a total of more than two hundred specimens belonging to forty-six different kinds of mammal, including that of Homo sapiens.”

So, for us gay male fans of human male penises, this isn’t exactly the promised land. That said, it’s a very unique and quirky museum that’s worth a visit anyway.

With the 282 penis specimen, with about 93 different species being represented, it’s certainly a tourist spot to remember.

If you’re interested in visiting the Icelandic Phallological Museum, you can click here to go to their website for more information.

Or, if you just want to look at what they provide from a distance, you can check out this traveling Youtuber’s video about the place down below.
