I have a few penis plugs and I much prefer them to sounding. I find that the sensitive area is just inside the head, and going deeper down the shaft doesn't do much. It just feels really good having something inserted there, especially if it's thick enough to give a little bit of a stretch. I imagine that's why people like Prince Albert piercings so much, because the ring gently rubs that part of the urethra all day.

By far my favourite plug I have is one which connects to an e-stim machine. When you turn that on the electricity makes the entire head of the penis feel tingly, like it's being lit up from the inside with vibrations. I'd definitely recommend trying it.

I’ve seen plugs as separate items from cockhead rings and, as above, part of the ring thing.

So... to the OP’s questions...

I started with a Prince’s Wand when I owned a tattoo & body art shop, our jewelry maker made a couple of them. Tried one out, thought it was pretty damn cool! It was a simple, smooth tube so no rings or bumps and not that thick. Still quite the new sensation.

Never played with anyone else while wearing one or playing with my sounds, they’ve just been solo explorations. And obviously enough fun that I bought a full set that I take out every now and then for a nice session. Wanking with a sound deep into your dick is... not like anything else I’ve felt. Like your cock is seriously rock hard if you’ve gone up to the thickest size you can take and put it in quite deep. As noted, I have a few more thicknesses to work up still!

And like many things, your max at the start is not actually your “max”, just what you can stretch up to at that point. With practice and patient work, you can get to pretty big sizes eventually.

This is not for everyone, just like many things aren’t for everyone and that’s cool.
