There is a penis reduction surgery, but it is still considered to be in its experimental stage. About two thirds of the few actual cases of penis reduction surgery have resulted in considerable scarring and erectile dysfunction. I wouldn't recommend it.

H8Monga: Orca: "WTFF?" That's a new one!

Women I guess have it lucky. You can increase and reduce the size of their breasts while the penis seems to be stubborn. A lot can go wrong doing either.

What made you inquire about penis reduction surgery? What size are you anyway (erect length, girth)? What are the problems you are having with being your size? This is a support group and maybe there is some information you could share with us and advice we could provide that would NOT have you considering penis reduction as a serious option.

beckyinfl: Those of you who have read my posts in the past know my boyfriend has looked into that too, but hasn't found much reliable info. I think it does exist, but is basically for other medical issues, such as cancer, where they remove part of the penis then re-attach. I don't think any guys get it just for size because of the risks. Just what we have heard.

Personally, I would have thought it would then loose it's abillity to be errect, unless they have wonders with rejoining the veins and arteries.

Jimbo: Hey Orca:

Remember John Wayne Bobbit, the guy whose wife cut his dick off?  It was rejoined and apparently worked just fine after that.  I saw him in an adult video and except for an obvious bend and a scar at the point of where it was severed, appeared normal and got fully erect.  Apparently micro-surgery techniques have come along way. Limbs  being reattached is fairly commonplace now.

My guess is that unless there are extreme circumstances like this, penis reduction is not attempted by most surgeons as an "elective"  or cosmetic surgery because it is very rare and therefore like DoubleMeat stated, therefore largely experimental due to the lack of a body of information "standardizing" the procedure.

ORCABOMBER: Yeah, yeah, sorry, I beg to differ Jimbo. I mean, I've seen fingers re-inserted...

Jimbo: Orca:

Beg to differ about what? ??? The main point of my reply to you was in that if a severed dick can be reattached and found to work fine, then a shortenend one in theory should work too. John Wayne probably lost some length due to the tissues at the severed ends having to be made ready for surgery by removing some of the dead/dying tissue.

If my memory serves me (it often forgets whom it works for) wasn't Mr. Bobbit's 'business' end of the shaft quite a bit smaller than the rest of the organ?

I would hate to think that a young fella would come out of reduction surgery with two distinct girths: one on the pre-surgical end, one on the attached end.

Maybe at this point, well enough is best left alone?

Actually, the appearance of Bobbit's reattached penis, by the time we got to see it (i.e. his movies, etc.) probably has nothing to do with the outcome of the reattachment surgery. Bobbit wanted to capitalize on the fame of his penis, decided to do porn, and eventually made three movies. However, his manager (Robert Yates) felt the penis was not big enough as reattached, and arranged for Bobbit to have penis enlargement surgery before launching the porn career. Although the news reports were not clear on this, I believe it was actually enlarged twice, the second time after the first two movies. In any event, I've heard the final outcome was a disaster, resulting in a misshapen penis. Personally, I can't believe that after having it lost, then reattached, and actually working normally again, anyone world risk damage by further surgery, but apparently that was the case.

aj2181: Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't cutting the penis damage the nerves making it impossible to feel anything?

bustyredhead: Due to miracles in science, nerves can reattached. However, it's the actual spongy material that apparantly causes all the trouble.
