Am I blind or has the thread disappeared? I can't find it.
Too many fuckwits posted to it. I complained about the multiple ToS violations, and I'm probably not the only one.
I'm not up to speed on how LPSG works. How do we learn of its removal? Do the czars post a message someplace? I guess I didn't read all of the posts. I didn't read anything that controversial. What offended you?
I did not post in the thread or report it. The thread itself was a violation of the T.o.S. Any content of sexual contact or sexual activity involving minors is simply not allowed. I thank the moderators for removing it.
Yes it was inevitable.
from the person who started this thread:
Joe Paterno, Jerry Sandusky, ...
...and a person still very young, but over the age of consent at the time of the telling of this joke, were out fishing one day when the boat began to leak and was soon sinking. Joe tells Jerry to go below and get them some life preservers. Jerry returns with only two life jackets and says that's all he could find. Jerry asks Joe what they should do and Joe says he'll wear one and Jerry can wear the other. Jerry says, "What about the person still very young, but over the age of consent at the time of the telling of this joke?" Joe says, "Fuck him". Jerry says, "Do you think we have time before the boat sinks?"
I was frankly surprised it lasted as long as it did.
That having been said, rape is a crime of violence more than anything sexual, but I do understand that such parsing doesn't always work when the rules are that black and white. The ToS regarding minors is completely explicit.
It seems to me that some of the people cheering its removal also posted to it, without protest, when it was up. It is also disturbing that the enforcers waited two weeks to remove it. Talk about being asleep at the wheel!
While I agree with the rules about pedophilia the thread was talking about a very important issue confronting the nation. It has been the top story on the news on the mainstream networks that are beamed into living rooms at 5:30 pm, for days!
I think there are also threads on LPSG about the pedophile crises in the catholic church. Are they removed by the rulers, too?
I got an invite to be a moderator a few weeks ago. Next time I will apply just so I can understand what happens behind the scenes. I fear I will be disappointed.
What happens is suddenly all the time you used to spend reading threads gets spent responding to reported posts, reported PMs, and pseudo-crises in the chat room. You spend extra time checking IP addresses for shenanigans, and banning spammers and minors. You skim your favorite fora, no longer for provocative topics, but instead for legal threats to the site. When all of these issues converge in the mod-only forum, you try to come to a consensus with the rest of the team. A week goes by and you realize you've been putting off responding to your personal PMs for several days, and have read only three or four threads purely for pleasure all week. Then you shrug, and get back to your real life, happy to have been able to give something back in the way of service to a site that has given something valuable to you.
Maybe you'll answer that thoughtful PM from your old friend tomorrow. Probably not. He knows you have two jobs, a small business, a mid-term, a term paper, a husband, a boyfriend, a cat, a dog, tickets to Kanye and Jay-Z, a partridge in a pear tree and a sprained ankle. He understands.
We treat everything we find or are shown equally. Threads about pedophilia are not permitted.
If you see something, say something. We don't have time to see it all ourselves. We're fucking busy.
That, in a nutshell, is why I'd never consider being a mod here. It's not that I don't appreciate the hard work you guys put in (voluntarily, I might add), but it just seems as though there's a fundamental looking-glass thing that I'd personally rather not ever explore.
It sure didn't do anything positive for Hilly or Matt-whatisname: jus' sayin'.
Thank you for your response. I've often seen moderators post similar complaints. For that kind of grief you should be paid. Why volunteer for something that is simply an annoyance and one more item on an already overloaded plate? It doesn't sound like you get any joy from the task.
I've said it many times when dust-ups occur in the politics thread. I think members are big boys and girls with some sophistication when it comes to controversial topics, therefore, unless they are threatened with harm and it is a credable threat, running to the moderators to whine is pitiful. And, the police can assist with a credable threat. Avoid the thread if you don't like it! Leave everyone else the hell alone!
There is a thread that invites posts that insult another member. I've never read them and I may be a subject of one, I don't care. I read the rules again a few minutes ago and it seems to me those violate the rules, too.
I do have a request. Eliminate the "quote" portion of threads. Many posts contain so much other garbage that it makes it hard to see what they are adding at the moment. All of the personal motto crap at the bottom is superfluous, too.
I'm not actually complaining. You asked what it is like, I shared what it is like for me.
It seems to me no one is harassed in those threads. They are all enjoying it, unless you've found a different thread from the ones I'm thinking of. I'm thinking of the one where what is written is about the poster above, who is voluntarily participating in the thread, and presumably laughing along. Regardless of what I say, however, if you see something you believe violates the TOS, report it. This post does not count as a report. Click the little yellow symbol, write a handful of words into the dialog box, click send, and a new thread magically appears in the mod-only forum. I'm only one opinion, and the least experienced moderator.
You should post your suggestions to the appropriate forum if you actually want them considered.
offended by the PSU thread, yet also penned this:
LPSG.ORG - View Single Post - Men: How much did your dad talk to you man to man about sex?
Dad and I talked a lot. There was this exquisite little boy, slender as a willow wand, that had my big popeye arm elbow - deep in his stunningly capacious ass while he was sucking Dad's cock. Dad and I had one of our most memorable talks during that particular session. I can't remember whether the boy was a cousin or not, but the smack sure helped him stay slim.
You should have seen the one they pulled, Thaddeus.
The cannabis has made you very literal-minded, Thaddeus.
The DA's report will have to go also, since it could be used as jerk-off fodder.
I've found that a good way to remain vested in this site is to not get too invested in this site.
Have not read all the posts but find it strange you can't talk about something on big dick web site that they spew at top volume at every dinner table in America for days at a time.
AMEN! This is a hardcore porn site. The czars make a de facto case of it by asking us to become involved in the political fights that threaten to shut down these types of sites.
Yeah, well, you know what I always say. It isn't your site, and if you don't like the way this privately owned business is run, you have the option of getting the fuck out. If you are a gold member, all of this was covered in the ToS, which you had to read when you signed up. If you aren't a gold member, then you have no right to complain about something you get for free.
