First off, men are just more aggressive, even gay ones. We see the object of our desire and move to strike. Women generally just sit there expecting you to read their mind and seduce them away from their throng of friends.

Secondly, if this site is any indication, gay men don't believe in straight guys; every straight guy wants to fool around with another guy.

As for Tripod, well... women just want to brag about turning a gay guy straight. Women always want a man they can change, homosexuality is the epitome of challenge in that regard. Also, they're used to guys always wanting to fuck them, so when they meet a charming, good looking guy that has no interest in them, they just can't accept it.

In response to the OP...what's up with drinking cosmopolitans?! I have a straight housemate who swears by them, they're his favourite drink of choice. Is that another stereotype thing?

I have another mate who always gets confused for gay; I think it's because he has highlighted hair, dresses well and looks after himself...I don't know for sure, but he gets talk for it alot more than I do, and I'm actually gay.

It's something that really bothers him and he's spoken to me about it before. He reckons it really shouldn't be an issue in this day and age.

I am gay, and I believe in straight guys. I just think they haven't found the right dick yet. KIDDING!! There are some straight guys, however, that are willing to sleep with other guys and this just gives the impression (to a lot of homos) that all straight guys like to fuck around with guys. This isn't the case though, and we all know that, but a lot of gay guys just like the fantasy. I've been with straight guys before and it really wasn't all that different. However, every straight guy I've been with wanted to bottom...strange. I think its the thought behind trying to "conquer" a straight guy.

I'd argue you've never been with a strait man. You were with a bi/gay guy that just didn't want to admit it to himself.

I gate it when this happens. I have had SEVERAL people say that when they first met me, they thought I was gay. After they get to know me they find it's not true. For me there are several reasons that they might think this. I actually like to shop, I try to dress well, I'm self-conscious about my body, I have a higher-pitched voice, I like to do colorguard, and I think the biggest reason is that I don't really talk about girls a lot. I have a very high respect level for women. I'm not one of those guys who is like "man she's hot, I would bang her all night long" I find that disrespectful towards women to say that. I keep my opinions to myself. I'm just a shy kind of person. But, to answer your question... yes, I am mistaken for gay a lot and I have had guys come on to me.

Well, I'd argue that you would be wrong. Do you not think that a straight man could enjoy sex with another guy? Why is it that (most think) a straight woman can enjoy sex with another woman, but a straight man cannot do the same with a dude? (not saying this is how you think, it is just very typical) One's sexual preference goes far beyond the physical aspect of sex. I've had sex with women and enjoyed it, but I could NEVER be in a relationship with one. I enjoy straight porn as well. However, I still consider myself to be gay. Why should it be the opposite in the heterosexual mindset?

It's not complicated; straight people don't have sex with people of the same sex, period.

Unfortunately, that is a very antiquated way of thinking. Not ALL straight people have same sex sex, but some do. And no one says that all straight people need to, some just chose to.

Antiquated? How do you figure? Antiquated would be: "Straight men have sex with straight women. Homos burn in hell."

People that engage in same sex sex AREN'T STRAIGHT. I'm not old fashioned, conservative, homophobic, or unrealistic. It's not complicated in the slightest. Straight is synonymous with heterosexual. Hetero coming from the Greek heteroes, meaning different. Hetrosexual people have sex with people of a different gender. It's not closed minded to use words as they are meant to be.

Men that fool around with men and call themselves strait are lying to themselves and those around them. I find it odd that instead of "your kind"* going after them getting to come out, "my kind"** are the ones being chased down for being closed-minded.

*=Guys that think "straight" guys mess around with other guys
**=Actual straight guys

Not ALL straight people have same sex sex, but some do.

Don't take this personally, but that is, most-likely, the single dumbest fucking thing I've read on this board. A man choosing to have sex with another man is not straight. Not messing around with same sex people is a requirement for being straight.

It's like saying you're still a virgin after having sex. The act of having sex nullifies your claim to virginity just as man on man action nullifies any claim to heterosexuality.

Man likes men - Gay
Man likes women - Straight
Man likes both- Bi

Now, do I care that these people lie to themselves? No, couldn't care less if they blow 50 dudes a week and still say they're straight. However, I do have a problem with people putting forth the idea that straight dudes desire/need/love fooling around with other men based on anecdotal evidence where the knew a guy that CLAIMED to be straight and still wanted to be fucked in the ass by another guy.

Putting feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken; putting a dick in your ass does make you gay/bi.

It isn't my place to ask someone to "come out" in any case. And I'm not chasing anyone down for being closed-minded. I don't think you are closed minded, I just think that this one particular way of thinking is a little dated. I don't mean any offense by saying that, and I'm sorry if there was any taken from it.

I understand 100% where you are coming from and respect your opinion. But who are you to say that a man that claims to be straight, but enjoys sex with another man, is not infact straight? You don't get to be the know-all end-all when it comes to another's claim to be straight, gay, bi, pansexual.
I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.

Enjoying sex with another man is the antithesis of being straight. Are you dense or intentionally trying to irk me? It's not my opinion, it's fucking fact.

Straight men have sex with women.
Heterosexuality refers to sexual behavior and attraction to people of the opposite sex, or to a heterosexual orientation. As a sexual orientation, heterosexuality refers to "an enduring pattern of or disposition to experience sexual, affectional, physical or romantic attractions primarily to "persons of the opposite sex"; it also refers to "an individual’s sense of personal and social identity based on those attractions, behaviors expressing them, and membership in a community of others who share them."[1][2] The term is usually applied to human beings, but it is also observed in all mammals.

Gay men have sex with men.
Homosexuality refers to romantic or sexual attraction or behavior among members of the same sex, situationally or in an enduring disposition. As a sexual orientation, homosexuality is considered to lie within the heterosexual-homosexual continuum of human sexuality,[1] and refers to an individual’s identity based on those attractions and membership in a community of others who share them.[2][3]

Bisexual men have sex with men and women.
Bisexuality refers to sexual behavior with[1] and or physical attraction to both sexes (malefemale), or a bisexual orientation. People who have a bisexual orientation "can experience sexual, emotional, and affectional attraction to both their own sex and the opposite sex"; "it also refers to an individual’s sense of personal and social identity based on those attractions, behaviors expressing them, and membership in a community of others who share them."[2] It is one of the three main classifications of sexual orientation, along with a heterosexual and a homosexual orientation. Individuals who do not experience sexual attraction to either sex are known as asexual.

Who am I to say a real straight guy doesn't have sex with other men? I'M SOMEONE THAT CAN READ.

I know the world isn't black and white and there are shades of gray everywhere. However, straight and gay are black and white. The shades of gray are bi/poly/pansexuality. There isn't a variance in having sex with men; you do it or you don't. 1 or 0. On or off. Same thing with having sex with women, you do it or you don't. With that, you have 4 possibilities. Gay, straight, bi, or asexual.

If men can have sex with men and still be straight what's the point of "bisexual"?

This is like arguing which is bigger, .9 or .90. It's fucking pointless and only going to give me an aneurysm.

First of all, no I am far from dense, thanks. Nor am I trying to "irk" you.
Hmmm...well, I guess since you can read, you know everything about every sexual being. And we all know that Wikipedia is the best source of information. Damn me and my inability to read and know it all.
Oh, and one last thing....who said that you had to be attracted to someone to enjoy sex with them? I guess this wiki information also means that every guy that enjoys anal stimulation from a toy shaped like a penis is gay or at least bi....maybe I should brush up on my wiki so I can be learned.

A toy isn't another man. If it was, married women with vibrators would be adulterers. Sex with a man and anal stimulation aren't mutually inclusive. You can have either without the other.

I never claimed to know everything about sexuality nor did I say wikipedia is the end all be all knowledge repository. If you want to really put me in my place, try finding a reputable source that describes a man engaging in homosexual acts with another man as straight instead of putting words in my mouth.

Ok, lets just stop because I'm really getting tired of this back and forth shit. All I know is this. I've been with a couple of guys who said they were straight. I never said that all straight men enjoy sex with other men. Some do, they say they are straight, whatever. That is for them to decide, not you not me. Let them be. They aren't hurting you or me or insulting either of us by saying that they are straight.

honestly i dont believe in a gay or straight. i think it is impossible to not have any sort of sexual emotion towards someone of the same gender. you can't slap a label of gay straight or whatever on someone. it complicates things.

The thing with society is that there is no going back. if i were to have sex with a man ONCE. just sex once. i am gay. everyone thinks i am gay blah blah. there is no going back! i can't be fully straight again! people expect 3 things. you like women, you like men, you like both. why can't i like women on thursdays and men on saturdays?

Now, you could call me bi-, but bi is such a general term. there are many times when men DO NOT turn me on. there is never a time when a woman can not turn me on though... I feel like the label of "bi" is that a guy likes both men and women 24/7. "they go both ways". once in a while i get horny for guys. thats all. i also don't think i could ever have a relationship with a man. so i feel like im more straight than bi or gay.
