I’ve had full coverage insurance.
And decent vacation, annually.
Working at a venue meant I knew a lot of performing artists. And I never paid for shows, even if I was not scheduled that night. Had a good collection of CDs given by the artists, too. (It helped that my day job was reporting, and I often had review copies ahead of the show. I greatly preferred digital versions.) Many of those artists are still friends.
when I was half of a dye studio, we travelled a LOT. Slept in a van most of the time, got to park and wake in some gorgeous places.
Now I own my own business.
Perks? I can limit the jerks I work with, contractees or the individual clients seen.
