I'm part of a group conversation. In the group, all the guys other than me are straight. The topic suddenly turns to girls & their physical appearance.

My question is this: as a gay man, how involved am I allowed to be in this conversation? Can I, for example, ask for more detail on a particular girl they're discussing? Offer my opinion as to whether a girls looks attractive?

This 'group' is very easy-going; I'd never get offended by something they say, so there's no need for them to worry about that. I'd like input as to how involved I can become before I slow the conversation down or make it less enjoyable for the straight guys.

They're your mates, if they're all good with your sexuality and they're bringing up the subjects of girls or sex in front of you then they feel comfortable enough for your input. Speak on it.

They might actually consider it advantageous. Like they got insider information or some shit!

I agree with ThatFella: you are still entitled to have your opinion about the topic. Moreover, your different point of view may be valuable in the discussion, so I don't think it will make it less enjoyable.

Hey everyone, thanks very much for your replies! I've joined in, and I've noticed sometimes the conversations are all about 'hot birds' that they want to 'smash', but sometimes it's more about what kind of girls they like & their personalities etc. The second one is actually quite sweet.

It must be very confusing being a man.

I figure it may be more confusing being gay. Plus you have less potential partners.

I wouldn't mind a gay friend joining the discussion. However, I don't have any gay friends or should I say, openly gay friends.
