I'm in school and I'm taking theatre classes, performance classes, music theory... you know, things like that.
Anyway, in the theatre class we're currently studying phonetics:
phonetics
at first it was difficult, but now im starting to enjoy it. We hadta read a portion of the poem "The Walrus and the Carperter" in a accent of our choice... though we had only three to choose from.
Southern(georgia-ish)
Cockney(England)
Russian(russia )
"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."
First was hadta transcrbe it into one of these accents using phonetics, then let Mr Eden read it aloud, to see if we transcribed it correctly, then we had to read it aloud. Its really very fun(I think)
