What type of image is it ... .jpg, .bmp, .gif,.... something else?bigbhoy77 said:it says this is not a valid image file
Also, while this may be a BIG-dicked site, there are size limitations when it comes to the files you can post. Sizes here are limited BOTH by pixel dimensions, and overall file size. :wink:alex8 said:What type of image is it ... .jpg, .bmp, .gif,.... something else?
And are you trying to put it on your profile or in the gallery?
Yes, novice, hence why it's useful to know whether the OP wants to put it on his profile or in the gallery, since the maximum dimensions for the latter are much greater.novice_btm said:Also, while this may be a BIG-dicked site, there are size limitations when it comes to the files you can post. Yes, Dear Alex, I know better than that. Don't give me grief, I haven't had coffee yet, and yes, I'm still addicted to caffeine! I was just trying to add in other possibilities to your helpful post.  :tongue:alex8 said:...I didn't just ask randomly, y'know....
Hmmm, 360 px x 360 px is the maximum for a profile pic... so that isn't the issue per se... but a .bmp file would be fairly huge in terms of file size... can you save it as a .jpg (open it in whatever image processing software you use, and simply save it in .jpg format).... this would cut down the file size to around one-tenth or less.bigbhoy77 said:bmp in my profile the size is 320pixels X 240pixels
Hmm, so it could possibly be an issue of SIZE??? I swear, I think I've heard that mentioned somewhere before. Hmm, where would that be...? Huh, dunno, I'm drawing a blank. :tongue:alex8 said:...a .bmp file would be fairly huge in terms of file size... can you save it as a .jpg ... this would cut down the file size to around one-tenth or less.

Which sounds as though you didn't actually perform a "save as" function, but just altered the file-name ending in a folder...bigbhoy77 said:sorry but it now says This BMP image has the incorrect file extension.
