hi guys/gals how do you upload a photo onto your profile?

If you mean onto your profile specifically, then click on

"User CP" (on the grey bar at the top of the page, far left)

and then on "Edit profile picture" (in the left hand column).

"Photos/Videos" (on the grey bar at the top of the page, far right)

and then on "Upload photos or videos" (in the upper right portion of the page that opens, just under the grey bar)

Also, while this may be a BIG-dicked site, there are size limitations when it comes to the files you can post. Sizes here are limited BOTH by pixel dimensions, and overall file size. :wink:

Yes, novice, hence why it's useful to know whether the OP wants to put it on his profile or in the gallery, since the maximum dimensions for the latter are much greater.

But there can be issues with .png files too... I didn't just ask randomly, y'know....

Hmmm, 360 px x 360 px is the maximum for a profile pic... so that isn't the issue per se... but a .bmp file would be fairly huge in terms of file size... can you save it as a .jpg (open it in whatever image processing software you use, and simply save it in .jpg format).... this would cut down the file size to around one-tenth or less.

Hmm, so it could possibly be an issue of SIZE??? I swear, I think I've heard that mentioned somewhere before. Hmm, where would that be...? Huh, dunno, I'm drawing a blank. :tongue:

Open the image in a programme like "Paint" or "PhotoEditor" or "PhotoShop" or whatever you use, and click on "save as" (and just change the .bmp ending to a .jpg ending)...

Which sounds as though you didn't actually perform a "save as" function, but just altered the file-name ending in a folder...

The only other solution I can offer is for you to put the .bmp image as it is in your gallery, and I'll then PM you a .jpg version of it to put on your profile. You can delete it from the gallery at that point if you don't want it to remain there.
