Photos, Fakers and Thieves at LPSG

Hi guys,

As an old-timer here at LPSG (a member for probably 7 or 8 years), I've been nauseated by the willingness of newer members, and some not-so-new members, to post pics here that are clearly either stolen, faked, enhanced or otherwise set out to misrepresent themselves to the other members. We've had the recent furore over pics posted by Philpeg, but he's by no means the only perpetrator.

What the fakers and liars often forget is that this site is stuffed full of big-cock experts, and the chances of finding big cock pics on the net that one of us doesn't know or hasn't seen is pretty remote. I've often seen the photoshopped pics posted here only to see the unenhanced originals elsewhere.

There was a great improvement recently when people were invited to include some verification within their pictures. I'm sure it's possible to fake those too, but most of the fakers are opportunists without the skills or equipment to do that. The problem was that this was an invitation and an option rather than a requirement to be able to post pics.

I think it's time Rob got tough with people who post pics that aren't of themselves and that aren't verified in some way. I think that verification should be compulsory before people are allowed to post pics here. If people have deliberately set out to deceive other members then they should be banned. These people degrade and devalue our site and insult the intelligence of the decent, honorable members who try to make a valuable contribution.

If people feel the need to post random big-cock pics then maybe we should have an album set aside for that purpose. I've got thousands I could post!

It's good to see you posting, and thanks for speaking for old-timers. I love some of the newer posters (to me, that means the folks who joined in the last 12 months). I can dig some of the message- and attention-whores who've racked up thousands (!!!) of messages in their short time here. But, it's the oldies but goodies like you whom I wish posted more often.

The Photo Verification Process has been a godsend.

I, like Dillon, am a strong believer that there should be consequences for members who steal pics or post fake pics. Misprepresentation is ubiquitous on the Internet and many here have had their full of it (either here or elsewhere).

This site's overwhleming climate is "come as you are." Owners and admirers alike are welcome here. Dillon is one of the members who spends significant time in the gallery and I know he will send someone a PM if he finds fake or stolen pics--I appreciate that.

Be who you are, I say. Let me love or hate you for who you are not for who you pretend to be.

I am interested to hear what other members have to say. Please speak up.

If there is enough consensus--I will personally bring it to the other Mods for presentation to Rob E to see what his thoughts are.

On-topic, I agree with you wholeheartedly, Dillon. Some of the fakers are laughable. We had a situation arise a while back where two members were claiming the same set of pics. Each accused the other of stealing them. Verification has been a great thing. Members who post photos in question and refuse to verify...look mighty suspicious.

Great point. But I've recently removed my photographs for a number of reasons. I agree fakers suck. But I've found it pretty easy to tell the real from the fakers. I have two "cock favorites" on this board and unfortunately for me they're both straight.:redface:

I do, however, like the notion of simply having a "Big Dick Gallery" of random cock shots. I would willingly add my share of saved photos.

I agree with CardiffDillon. Unlike him, I'm no big-dick connoisseur -- pretty much the only pics I see online are by following the occasional links provided on this site -- but even I see an awful lot of penises in people's profiles that look suspiciously familiar. It's especially frustrating to be in the chat room and have gullible, lovelorn size queens gushing over someone's photos when you know they are stolen.

Of course people misrepresent themselves online all the time, but this particular misrepresentation really cheapens and degrades this site, adding to the mindless bragging and "bigger is better" mentality that a lot of us longtime members, who initially joined LPSG looking for an actual "support group," really don't appreciate.

Many of us -- including myself, a happily married man -- will never post penis photos on this site. But for those who do post revealing photos -- and this goes for both males and females, as both have been guilty of misrepresentation -- I think the verification protocol should be expanded. Maybe people posting racy pics should be required to provided "verified" pics of same within a reasonable amount of time, or risk losing their photo-posting privileges?

Couldn't that be faked by just writing smaller on a smaller piece of paper that's placed by their hardon? If someone wants to fake their size in the "verified" photos, I can think of a lot of ways to do so.

Ultimately, aside from having the thing in hand, ahem, won't webcams eventually be the real challenge for fakers, as you can direct them to do things live for proof and insist they show themselves next to standardized familiar objects, (besides easily faked shortened rulers)?

Roadster, I think the issue Dills is citing is actually people posting pics of others, and claiming to be of themselves. And that's what the "verification process" is intending to address.

I'm not sure even LPSG can take on the issue of inch-enhancement. That is an eternal dilemma that even lovelorn size queens like Steve26 can't solve here.

One good start would be to rid the gallery of all those pics attached to "unregistered" people. They must have been imported from the old board and are belong to people who are no longer members.

Great points Roadster Steve. I used to belong to a webcam group that required you to show your cock on cam before you were admitted. Sure kept all the fakers and "watchers only" out.

There are a couple of issues in your post which merit attention. When I see a new member, I think and want to answer two questions:

1. Are they who and what they say they are?
2. Do they have what they say they have?

I will clarify:

#1 means that if I say I am an African American male, college educated, bisexual--that I post in those regards. That the person behind the keystrokes is all of those things.

#2--means, if I say I have a big dick, do I?

To me, members should have to verify any purported personal photograph.

As Sorceror uses his eyes as his avatar, he verified himself with a pic of half of his face.

I used my cock as verification as I don't want face shots here.

Steve26 can verify by posting more chest and torso shots, etc. I have seen him in person so I know he is who he says he is and vice versa.

We can't force someone to verifiy themselves with pics, but we can encourage people to do so by giving those who do additional benefits and greater respect.

We all have the right to challenge any pics and as youhave seen, we will delete fakers and reduce member status as required.

Thoughts about how to improve the PVM process are appreicated and encouraged.

I agree with Dillion that the member gallery should be divided within each profile into:

1. Pics of the Member (with at least ONE verified)
2. Pics of things the member likes

However, for me its nearly impossible to get new pictures or verified ones, especially since the camera I used isn't mine and I don't own one. So to only have verified posters have pictures is a little unfair.

I actually emailed Rob and suggested this a few months ago. My feelings are that we will never stop people posting pics of guys they admire. What we need to try and do is make a distinction as Lex and Dillon have outlined above. Verification is a step towards this, and whilst anything can be faked or taken advantage of, this should not stop us developing the system. It would be a little like saying that just because a few people break the law, maybe we shouldn't have a law.

I did suggest we have a method of searching for members by membership type... it would mean you could easily see who is verified/gold etc. Maybe also each verified member should have a verified pic on their profile? Thse are small changes, but at least it would allow members to easily see who has chosen to be verified and who hasn't.

You are 100% right bud. I agree with u. I think most of expert LPSG users get bored to see some fake people in LPSG. They are feeding their egos in cyber world but LPSG is not the right place I think. its good idea : "verificate before post", with cam or with signature.

With all due respect to whats been said before, i think what needs to be addressed is the whole philosophy behind this mighty message board. I think, that we suffer from too great a cross over from "cock hunters" away from the orginal mission to inform, discuss and resolve the issues unique to our situation = and from that interaction, create a community in which we could speak about the more mundane things in life.

Its natural in any sexuality or creed that we should like to look at other peoples photos and compare, and hey, ill admit i get sexual gratification from them, but the fact that the gallery can be browsed rather that accessed on a profile by profile basis, encourages said "cock hunting".

I remember when Lpsg was no more that a white page with a broken message board and a "who we are" page...ii realise almost every concievable topic has came up and been discussed in full since then, but it just seems that we are doing a disservice to new genuine members who seek genuine advice as im sure you will all admit, we have got caught up in the photography issues.

As for fakers, just fucking ban them. If they payed for subscription, take full payment and fuckin ban them. no one likes a liar.

I don't know that it's unfair to insist on some kind of verification. We live in a time when it's hard to not have some kind of digital camera. They're available cheaply in the shops, there's webcams, and most mobile phones come with one attached.

I verified a face pic because I don't post dick pics. I feel that once you do, you loose all control over who sees it. Anyone walking down the street can see my face, but if someone walked over, unzipped me, had a look at my cock and walked off without saying a word, it'd be kind of wierd. Hence, my face is all you'll see in my gallery.

However, I make no claims about my dick size here, but if I chose to I would be able to back them up. This isn't a porn site, so I don't think there should be a need to post dick pics - unless you're posting about how massive it is.
