Unfortunately, most doctors no longer do a complete physical. You have to alert them to a problem before they'll ask you to "drop trow."
mentioned to my DR that I had started waking during the night for a trip to the toilet - would have been faster to just do a digital exam - no - make an appointment to go for a PSA test

Annual follow-up after hernia surgery?

That's totally weird.

And, I have never had a doctor - not even my urologist (long-term kidney stones issues) - examine my penis. Also since testicular cancer is a young man's disease, most doctors seem to stop testicular exams well before the patient turns 30.

I'm a victim of the "new" medicine. Annual physical. Nurse asked questions to determine my mental health, since I'm a senior citizen. She did the vitals. When the doctor came in, lots of talk and laughter. No abdominal check, no prostate check (for two years), no genitals check, no hernia check. He listened to heart and lungs. I have not removed a single garment for two years. Have had blood work and received a report on it on-line. I had to ask him to do a skin check of my back. I'm convinced modern GPs don't want to see us unless we're genuinely sick. What gives?

It's probably been close to 20 years since I had a groin check. It was always by a male doctor. I really wasn't comfortable with my sexuality at the time, so it was a little awkward. I had shave balls and a full bush at the time. I was wondering if he would react to my grooming, but he was professional, and didn't seem to react to it.

It might have been 10 years now since I had a urologist do a prostate check. I was more comfortable then. He was a guy. I was kind of hoping to get a slight reaction out of him, having a +5 in. flaccid cock hanging there when I pull my pants down, but I'm sure he's seen larger. I audibly exhaled when I put his lubed, gloved finger in my ass. Of course, my back was to him at the time. Over all as a doctor, he didn't listen well to his patient, and was dismissive. Still, not the worst doctor I've ever seen.
