I got my first piercings back in the late '70s when there were perhaps only two or three 'professional' piercers in the UK and they were all being very careful not to draw attention to themselves because the piercing fetish was still in the closet. Like a lot of people in the 'scene' back the, I did my own piercings. My first (when I was 19) was a nipple ring. Then a year or so later I put a ring through my frenum, and over the next few years I added a couple of rings in my foreskin and I did a PA.
The PA was terribly uncomfortable at first as the ring I installed was too big in diameter and too thin in wire gague. But with the right size ring it was quite comfortable. It was not possible to piss a reliable stream so I took to sitting down to pee. The best PA ring for me was about 1/8" thick and 1/2" internal diameter. My girlfriend at the time was ok about my piercings, and found the PA comfortable enough during sex. I tried dydoes but they didn't work for me, and I tried a guiche which was very uncomfortable so I took that out too. Then I got an ampallang - in fact, I got my g/f to do it for me. It took a long while to heal. This is because it is a long piercing. In my case it was in effect two piercings, as it perforated the urethra as it passed horizontally through the glans. (Yes. This means that if you piss without your barbell in, it leaks out the piercings!)
The ampallang is a piercing that your partner CAN feel during sex and it is vital that it is a good quality barbell with nice large diamater (1/4" at least) balls each end. I found however, that my foreskin would sometimes be pinched between a barbell ball my jeans (when walking or driving) and get very uncomfortable so I took to wearing my foreskin retracted. Then a year or so later I got myself circumcised. I always hesitate to tell this story as so many circumcised guys wish their parents had left them un-cut. For me it was all to do with exploring the possiblilties. I have never regretted it.
I had relationships with several women during those years, some of whom liked my piercings, one or two were not very keen, but all accepted my piercings as a part of me.
My PA gave way to a meatonomy and for a few years I only had the ampallang. I guess I'm talking about the early '90s now, by which time I was married, lots of body pierciers had opened up shops around the world, and some of us were taking things beyond piercings. I went further with the meatonomy and ended up with a bifurcated (split) cockhead. After that healed I could either wear a long ampallang barbell (holding the two halves together) or two short barbells (one through each half). The latter was very comfortable. My wife and I both enjoyed my cock in this mode for a few years, but when she went through menopause and her vagina became less robust I became worried that the ampallang might be a bit hard on her fragile vaginal walls so I took out the jewellery.
I did post a coulple of my cock pictures in my gallery, but they attracted a couple of negative comments so I took them down. I probably shouldn't have though, as I think (as does my wife) that my cock is a handsome one. It's a difficult one: for every person who thinks your piercing, tattoo, or whatever, is cool, there are a good few who don't, and then there's also a mean person who says something negative. I'd like to post my pictures again some day, but I'll find it easier with some moral support.
I have a good relationship with my cock. Like a lot of (most?) guys, I used to wish that it was bigger. Over the years I've experimented with various penis enlargement techniques but never made significant gains. But there's some good pe info on the net now and last year I made some gains. The irony is that modern research shows the average cock size as a good bit smaller than previously thought and I now realise that mine was a well above average all along. I don't feel the urge to further modify it with piercings etc. but I'll probably carry on doing some pe because my wife I both enjoy it. My remaining piercings are a gold (with jet bead) ring in my right nipple and a small blue niobium (to match my eyes) ball closure ring in my left ear lobe.
